I have only two question: why did Negi got so worked up for after reading "defeated one another"? Who defeated whom?

Probably his father and the big bad/leader of the organization. Assuming his own father isn't the one behind the organization (highly doubt it but had to mention it for lulz anyway)

I thought it sounded like Nagi and Fate beat the crap out of each other and were tied or something...

The most shocking thing about it is that they "defeated one another" "ten years ago" which coincides with the time that Nagi disappeared.

Still, he came back four years later to save Negi, so that means either one or neither of them died in that fight (I guess in the same fashion as any duel Nagi had with Jack, seeing as they went all out but never got killed for it).

And it's likely to be someone really fucking strong and Nagi in the fight.... obviously, lol.

i'm guessing Fate is a doll by the person who fought Nagi. Nagi - or Fate - might've cast some spell that locked and immobilized the two. interesting how asuna "accidentally" tore the page apart; did she have the chance to perhaps change the content in the meantime ? 'cause it's most likely a fake.

anyway, cool chapter ! i'm somewhat glad yue didn't suddenly snap out of her amnesia. it's funner to see what she accomplishes by herself

Nice chapter, somehow i feel that in next chapters well be seen a negi taking some real hard decision, and it looks like the "Not been the real Asuna" theory that someone posted in other chapters could be true.....i feel that Asuna isn't Asuna lol .

At this point, it should be obvious (to us) that she's an impostor.

Since when was she a timid side character? She's the charismatic tsundere of the series, ffs. Also, she doesn't make the :3 face. 'nuff said.

^ agreed. I'm now 100% certain that that's a fake asuna. The last chap felt like it didn't have enough evidence or dialogue to prove that it was asuna(for me anyway, but the paperdoll golem-like behavior really is the clincher. I wonder why Negi or Rakan haven't noticed that by now.......

Ch. 229 is a good chapter to end the battle sub-arc. To me, the most important part is the disclosure of some of Fate's plans and his true name.

The next sub-arc will disclose very important information about the Al Rubra. As usual, Rakan is charging Negi for the right to see his own Al Rubra movie. Of course, Rakan will be the star of the movie.

About Asuna, I want to think that she hasn't been replace by a fake. Knowing Ken, there is a chance that Asuna has been replace by a fake. A fake Asuna will create more trouble for Negi and the others. Yet, Fate seems to have a need for Asuna's magic canceling ability. He will likely tried to abduct Asuna before the final battle at the former royal palace and the gateport.
