she came back unscathed when she was clearly attacked. fate also showed interest in her so that it's possible that she is fake and one of fate's subordinates while the really asuna was captured.. though it is possible that she is the really one and overcame the two that attacked her.
What chapter was that? I want to take a look myself.
What is it with Kenny and his damn breaks, how much (factual?) information does this guy need to make up something ficticious?
What truly made me think that Asuna could be a fake is her comment: Looks like Setsuna-san's alright. I can brush the theories: clean clothes, brash language, harisen/sword missing Fate, sudden appearance, etc., but NOT on the comment I stated above, as she knew Setsuna's facing a really dangerous opponent. But, again, I need more chapters to make a conclusion.

I myself am pretty torn on this. Though It wouldn't be the first time when we were deprived of Asuna's display of new skills. The "looks like setsuna-san's alright" thing would be logical to say after she came back from a fight with tsukuyomi practically unscathed. I'm not discounting the possibility though. It looked like Asuna was up against a pyrokinetic along with a girl with an unknown ability. I think she could cancel the fire girl but the other...
Which makes me wonder: Was tsukuyomi holding back during the fight in kyoto? For her to basically best setsuna in combat with her own style would mean either that or that she has an even better teacher/trainer than setsuna has. /ramble
Another good chapter. ^__^
I think tsukuyomi was always playing around with setsuna. she would hold back any attack that would permanently scar setsuna's deliciously white skin.
on the asuna topic, in chapter 227, the last frame in which you see her is with an enemy appearing from behind with an evil smile... then in chapter 228 she justs pops up? with no explanation of how she got away? that's suspicious. Fate doesn't need a fake asuna to fool negi and co for eternity, he just need enough time for him to kidnap the real one without negi realising.
plus, it would add a new twist in the manga, which has been lacking lately.
^Agreed. If you think about Fate's original request for Asuna, it would make sense that he would attempt to kidnap her if Negi refused. With that said, they don't really need the fake Asuna for long at all, just enough to take her and get far away before they get suspicious.
Good Times
