That is a bad idea. First of all, attacking Nodoka will leave Fate exposed to Negi's attacks. Second, she is with Kotarou, and thus chances of actually harming Nodoka are small.
Third, Fate isn't into tearing heads off. He'd probably just enjoy the increase in difficulty.
Besides, it's a Negima - no heads are going to be torn off... and probably nobody is going to die at all.

I know, I know. What I have written is just a figure of speech. But still, who knows?.. Negi seems to be out of breath while Fate seems to be just fine and Iím sure he is WAY stronger and faster than Kotaro, so who knows what he might do. Since Nodoka ďhackedĒ into his mind there appears a possibility for her to dig up somenthing Fate donít really want others to know, so he might think Nodoka is better off dead. What if he'll decide to quickly pierce her heart with a stone spike like he did with Eva in Kyoto arc?

Fate is using the fact that Negi and the Al Alba being fugitives to his advantage. Fate had carefully plan what to do. His first plan was to prevent Jack from intervening. Jack is still a powerful fighter. Fate's second plan was to divide the Al Alba.

I did think that Fate had went a little overboard with his fight with Negi. All Fate had to do to fight Negi long enough until the Ariadane Valkyries arrived. Apparentily, Fate was caught up in the excitement of fighting Negi. He did made what may considered to be a major tactical error.

Fate did underestimate the Al Alba. The last few chapters were exciting. Ken did use some fanservice in the last chapters. Fate should stop fighting Negi as soon as Bridgette or another member of his party spotted the Valkyries, but he was too caught in his fight with Negi.

Ch. 227 and Ch. 228 are likley turning points in the Magic World arc. I suspect that we will find out what Takamichi has been up to in either Ch. 229 or Ch. 230.

Well, all we've seen is him wounded. So we can't be sure he died. Especially when the medicine allows to sew a torn-off arm without much trouble, and his wounds weren't that bad. He might as well reappear as an enemy cyborg. As he is Takamichi's teacher, he must be a formidable enemy.

^He's definitely dead. I don't think there's any reason to speculate that he's alive, since he isn't that important of a character to the story to begin with.

"You have other hearts trapped within you as well, dont you?"
"You're that guy from last time! What are you talking about?!"
    "The other Hearts within you."
    "Hearts trapped within me....?"

i forgot to mention someone else who was blatantly dead and she is part of the main cast: sayo. i mean being a ghost obviously means you're dead right? anyway, i liked this chapter mostly because kotaro gets more screen time. btw does anyone know the difference between kage bunshin and a clone?

Meh, its shounen, hell be all emo and cry for a bit then there'll bee a lot of screaming and he'll nearly kill himself (plot armour lol) powering up and learning some new ridiculous OTT attack. He'll then give fate a whoopin', get beaten up again and we'll be back at square one. This will happen as many times as is needed to complete the series, meanwhile the ever increasing power and complexity of attacks will sky rocket into the uterly ridiculous.

Well, you got me about Sayo.

As for kage bunshin vs clone:
'Kage bunshin' is a ninja technique which allows you to make fight-capable copies of yourself (or, alternatively, split yourself into a number of places at once). It is usually translated as 'shadow clone' or 'shadow copy'. They say ninja actually called their comrades (who all look alike in the darkness and wearing masks) to make it look like it is one person that is everywhere.
A 'clone' is a different living being, made with the DNA of the original. Of no use in combat, but has its uses strategically.
Alternatively, a 'clone' might mean the result of ninja 'bunshin' technique, an inanimate thing that looks like a ninja to distract attention (one can do it in real life). Or it might mean any of the copies crated by 'kage bunshin', because saying 'shadow clone' is way too long.
