i beg to differ, the way negi is right now as his anger rises the more powerful he becomes thanks to megia erebea. I think what will happen is that Negi would lose control over his dark powers and hurt everybody and become even more wanted. I pretty much doubt that Fate could score another win with Negi's ministras watching over and rankan-san's also probably just near by anyway.

About Fate though, he's a bit arrogant to actually ask that to Negi. He should have known Negi's reply even before the conversation. I think he noticed erebea's power already and wants to try to face it. It's going to be a pretty even match since Fate also has ministras adding to his already strong powers while Negi has half a class as his ministras along with the strongest dark magic ever created.

welp.. Negi still can't unleash it's full power ya know.. it could go berserk at any time after all...

but yeah... tea fights are made out of win...

I think Fates realplan was to play a littel with negi and get the information about her false memories and history over to asuna this way. And it´s posible that Asuna will turn her self over to Fate for the save pasage of her classmates.
