The thing is Negi still has more darkness inside him meaning his current strength is only the peak of his true might. I don't think Kanka can really match up to it in full strength. I remember that it was described as the complete opposite yet equally strong with the ultimate magic (which I forgot). If he had this before when he fought Takahata he probably would have wiped the floor clean with that old man's face.

Has anyone thought about how that Negi using this 'darkness' power puts those symbols and stuff on his body? Also one of the bounty hunters said that it was supposedly injuring him at the same time. To me, it's very similar to Chao's situation, so I thought maybe it was spread down a family line, or Negi and his family somehow did that to Chao. Another question that rises is that if this technique could have been passed down to Chao, how come Evangeline didn't recognize it when she saw it?

If that's true then man does Chao sucks at using it.... or maybe it's just a different weaker variation.

they were prolly getting weaker during those times.... by having the next generation have 75% of the ancestor's true power...

Anyone notice how Negi´s eye´s look really similar to that of Eva when she is fighting?

chao forces magic though her body with runes from the tree. Causes Chao physical pain.The magic came from the tree, and abit form her blood.

Negi uses tatoos/runes on his arms.Merges with the magic, body and soul. So the magic either eating away at his soul or he's absorbing the black magic into his entire body,and brings it out when atking.

Their both a bit diffrent, besides, Negi is a mage, Chao is just a genius , that forcefully used magic with her runes.

I doubt her magic experience will beat Negi.

The similarities between them, are blood related, genuises, only look forward, do anything and everything to get what they want.

And I have a feeling this will have a twist just like Naruto, where Negi looses it and goes into 'Kyuubi' mode with all his supposed 'inner strength'.

she's no mage she herself had minimal magical power, She was able to use magic only from those runes created by Science.The fact she can cast those powerful spells was because of the magic coming form the tree, and her forcefully awakened blood line.

As for those magical spells, shes a genius after all, i wouldn't be surprised for her to do her bit a research.To use it in battle, when the world tree was full of magic.

Even you should have noticed her pained exhaustive look when she cast spells.In short i can probably classify her as a fake mage.

Negi was able to stop the Black Hounds bounty hunters. Negi still needs further training to learn how to better control his dark power. Haruna was anxious to try out her ship's secret weapons. Now, the Negima club members are reunited. Anya is still unaccounted for.

Let's hope that Takamichi appears in Ch. 219. He will be attending the festival. Takamichi will not be able to contact Negi because he is too well known on the Magic World.

To learn and perform spells like that successfully, for the first time ever, would never happen. You would have a better chance of getting struck by lightning twice and getting raped by Michael Jackson in the same night. I doubt she just decided to learn magic that day and whoosh, performed it so gracefully. According to the tattoos and marks over her body, it shows that she knows quite a bit about magic. If that was her first time using it then she probably would have screamed in pain? Seeing as how she's used to it means she probably used it before. Besides, Negi and Chao's conversation after their battle suggested that she did have the option of becoming a magister/ministra magi.

She didn't look that pained and exhausted. There was a battle before that too you know. Also, according to Negi's reaction, the marks and tattoos must have caused a huge amount of pain, so it could have been that?
