I'm not sure it's a good example though. First if I remember well it's monthly, and second it hasn't seen any decent character development in years. After each chapter you get the feeling the mangaka hits the reset button.

With Negima though, there's still plenty of room for character development for a few years, without the mangaka stretching the story too much. We could use more flashbacks from the Crimsom Wings, and I get the feeling we'll see them without need for a new series, since there's plenty of unanswered questions about them.

I don't think Negima will end anytime soon. It could easily go on for years. I don't want it to end. Ken made it in such a way that I don't see how it could end unless we get some big reveals and the bad guys die.

I'd read any new series by Ken!

Well supposedly Negima is over halfway through already IIRC.

There is still a few mysteries in the series to solve. Two of the mysteries center around the fate of Negi's mother and the character Zazie Rainyday. It has been speculated that the series will last only for thirty-one plus volumes.

Negima seems to have a spin-off of its own. A series which will focus on Nagi Springfield and the Crimson Wing.

I think he just wants to have one story to work on for a while then retire. His other stories were like less than 14 volumes, then this one will probably end up being like 47?

Prolly around 48...

And as long as he doesn't screw up the ending. Nothing worse than ruining a good series with a crappy ending. And a long series at that...
