    Default Kaede Nagase

Kaede is my favourite character, so I would like to know this:

    What does De-Gozaru mean?

It's been bugging me for a while.

Oh yeah, one more question, is the series finished, or is the author still writing new chapters? I see the green thing, but that could mean that bad download links were updated, or something like that.

archaic form of desu.Meaning "to be", ppl who use this term generally mean they are being polite and formal, when they add this to the end of their sentences.

Kaede is speaking in an old fashioned way. It like me saying "thou art" from the Shakespearian age, we know the meaning of "thou art", but we don't really use it when speaking.
Friendship is like pissing your pants,Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

It also can be taken as "That it is" I think and no the series isn't finished, just on vacation until next week. They don't update their links on this site too often so check one of the threads that have chapter numbers or the raws thread. They have the links to the download files or the sites that post them.

    Thanks for the help!

By the way, sinker, where did you get that thing in your sig? I've been looking for one of those for a while now, but I can never find them.

If you have ever seen a Kurosawa movie, degozaru is something that samurai said.

Negima is still going on, but you do have to search for the releases elsewhere, as tazmo updates slowly

Yeah, Kaede is one of the most mature characters among the girls. I wonder what kind of a magical artifact she would have as a magical partner...

FantasyStrike I think you are confusing degozaru with nin. Kaede finishes sentences with 'degozaru' and says 'nin' while preforming a skill. Focused chi would be way more important in using a skill than ending a sentence methinks.

If you've ever seen the kenshin anime he uses it all time. (In all honesty it didnt click for me until i saw this post, fu fu fu...) It basically means "that it is" it's basically used to politely reinforce the meaning of your words. For example if you were to say "well be okay, de-gozaru" the literal translation would be "well be okay, that we will", or "ill definitely defeat you, degozaru" would translate to "ill definitely defeat you, that i will."
