well they're doing their best... let's not crucfy them for it ok xD
^I guess you're right........they're not that bad. There have been fanscans that have been exponentially worse than Frankyhouse's scans. Though....I do miss AQS's scans.......

uh 98... on the first quote, I think he was referring to the "no RAW/chapter" out yet... I don't think he was referring to the "no scans out"... as I've said before, KA's on a tour around the world selling Negima cards and he has an announcement coming this April...
Well, if you want faster scans of Negima go to Aquastar and volunteer to become an editor. The main reason that they are slowing down now is their lack of editors.
I'm trying, but I keep getting side tracked by a paper I need to write.
Uh, if there are any one who's interested go to their IRC channel at Rizon, #aquastar-anime, and try to get a hold of Aznricekid, Jaceryl or DarkXGenesis. They can hook you up with the test.
I thought the reason that they're slowing down is because they want clear quality English and stuff... at least that's what I read at the AQS forums...
"Staffing Note: As some of you are aware, we are always looking for new applicants for the Aquastar team. As it so happens, we are very short on available editors at the moment, which is why we would like to extend our invitation to those interested in the position. Experience with both typesetting and rebuilding is preferred.
For those who wish to apply, please contact either myself or our Editor-in-Chief, Aznricekid (aznricekid713@gmail.com) for more information. To be eligible, you must be able to complete a small test or supplement previous work in its place."

That was quoted from the release of chapter 204. AQS releases are slower then releases from Franky House because they try to do a more thorough job of things. That means, using hypothetical numbers, AQS might take 7 days after Japaneese release to release a scan where Franky House might do it in 3 days.
Jaceryl posted a better explanation if anyone wants more detail.
"For those of you interested, I'll go ahead and give you a short run down of how the process goes down.
Speed groups:
- one person translates the script
- one person edits and typesets that script
- product is released
Currently at AQS:
- our junior translator does a run through of script and posts his TL
- I correct any mistakes and adjust sentence structure to allow the material to flow and maintain one voice
- the SFX are translated
- any Latin present is translated
- the script is proofread
- the raws are cleaned and leveled (which can take a large amount of time in and of itself)
- what available editors we have take pages and rebuild/typeset
- all pages are put together and made sure they pass the OK of our Editor in Chief
- the chapter is posted as such in its "Quality Check" phase
- said chapter is looked over by 2-4 people and then OKed
- the final changes are put together and the product is released via various outlets
There are definite slowdowns here and there, especially when the persons cleaning, editing, and finishing the product are all the same person. Couple that with the fact that our group is international (thus timezones come into effect) and that we all do have lives (school, work, or both). As such, it takes a few days for a quality product to be finished and released.
Of course, we'd like to smooth out the process, and getting more qualified editors is one aspect of that. So, if you would like to see the editor's test to try your hand, please e-mail myself or AZN, and we'll be sure to get you one."

So to sum it's just taking them longer to do the same quality job with less people. This is where it starts taking say 8 or 9 days to get the job done and then you start falling behind the weekly releases. This is when the time between a speed scan and quality scan starts to increase.
