Its the mangaka's world after all no? U can speculate all u want, but whats the use with out anything to base on... i might as well be saying "the magic world is a newer world created by an ancient vampire..."
The ultimatuim: We will NEVER know till ken releases it...
Speculating on story lines or characters would be far easier and possibly worth doing, since it is based on people and other mangas...
The main purpose of this thread is to gather information on the Magic World. The information on the Magic World help us to understand the world itself. We already know that the Magic World is a lot like Earth. There seems to be many types of people on the planet, esp those who we will call terrorists.
From the information already gather, the majority of the Magic World's people don't care about the Earth at all. Some want to break all ties with the Old World. The people who have sponser Fate seem to be trying to break all ties with the Old World.
Any speculation about the Magic World is an option. I do enjoy reading any of the speculation on the Magic World.

Even though this thread is pretty dead I must say, if you don't like it, just stay away from it. Why ruin it for us who actually like to do this sort of thing? Besides you being a jackass.
lolz i would never have start if not for yami, juz givin it my thoughts. nothing else...
What ever the translation, logic shows that if the environmental and physical characteristics of two planets are the same, those planets exist in congruent conditions (including but not limited to planet size, distant from the nearest 'sun'). Which is why, unless the magic world planet is has many cavities around its core, gravity would crush all human/sentient inhabitants. You can only have larger planets with less density if the planet is contains, in significant portions, gases (which is out of the question).
The flip-side is if the magic world is smaller but in its centre contains a very dense super material, this condition may counter the normally lower gravity of smaller planets. If Ken did model mage world based on mars, this is the easiest scientific explanation that excludes the magic factor.
P.S: I seem to recall (human) magic world natives calling 'earth' the 'old world'. I get the impression that human mages may have migrated to 'Magic world' from earth in the distant past (wouldn't be surprised with all that witch burning prejudice of the past and beyond).
"You are a 100 years too early to argue logically with ME......"
Well, that's true if it's in the same Universe, with same laws of physics, dimensions, time and universal constants. Plus I'm not sure how to account for the Coriolis effect in this case. And it's obviously without considering the physics-defying magics fairly common in this manga
Since the mangaka could have put the Magic World in another dimension, another universe, or even made it a magical construct like Eva's resort (but larger), it also raises the question if time passes the same on both sides.
You're right too, the "Old World" (Mondus Vetus) expression only makes sense in the context of a migration at some point in time. So that's where Merlin went![]()
/when I was reading this I thought, it was a parallel universe whose land mass or area is 1/3 of earths, but maybe overlaps earth's a bit. Which could make the Japan reference on the map a location reference of Japan in the Old World.
I'm pretty sure the japan thing is only because Akamatsu himself is japanese and is trying to promote his own country. Very many animes set in alternate worlds have done so, regardless of how illogical that would be. We can very well assume that the magical world is most likely a construct, where all magical/mythical/legendary things migrate to, when the human world turned to things like religion and/or science. Kinda like the ending to Lord of the Rings, when all magically tainted beings migrated to the other continent when humans inherit the world.
If something is free and available, people are going to take it. That's a fact of life, and no amount of guilt and blame will change that.
