I guess you could say Negima has a bit of "Naruto-syndrome" where Negi simply belongs to a generation of especially gifted Mages and warriors. That or he's just too awesome.
Well, he is the son of the Thousand Master, so I'd say his genes would have something to do with his large amount of power. He also has an incredible work ethic and is really smart, unlike most shounen protagonists.

not to mention that all of Ken's shounen heroes started out as a little bit stupid... Negi starts and continues to be a genius...

Lol at naruto syndrome. Every character in that class so far seem to become the epitome of greatness in their respective skills. Super sniper, super swordsman, super ninja, ultimate healer. Of course not counting those with greater history like Asuna, the ultimate Anti-Mage; Evangeline the greatest vampire alive etc etc.

If something is free and available, people are going to take it. That's a fact of life, and no amount of guilt and blame will change that.

Indeed, well thought off Revna... Thats why fantasy always remains to be fantasy. You forget to mention super robot, ghost, mind reader, summoner, half bird demon, time traveller/martian, super scientist, super chinese martial artist, and possibly more...

Will they at some moment of time become too powerful and will have to travel parallel worlds in search of worthy enemies?

What I'm most worried about is that, with the power they collectively have, they can start their own country, or even take over the world or at least Japan. The thing is, that they all have what is known as Unlimited Potential, to ability to extend their powers to infinite proportions. There is no villain capable of defeating them, making the most likely scenario is that the group will be broken up in the near future right after they are reunited, only to be picked off 1 by 1.

Take over the world? Start their own country? Where the hell are these things coming from? We know that none of the group have any ambitions beyond being normal people and finding Negi's father...or just fighting for the fun of it, since none of their characters(in the personality sense) are that complex. The unlimited potential thing is a no go, that only applies to the shounen hero. And, being that it is indeed Shounen, there will ALWAYS be an evil (misunderstood?) guy that's stronger than Negi, so he has an excuse to get stronger. Now, I'm not a rabid fanboy, but try not to post silly claims like Negi obtaining Godlike powers (He'll probably get up a bit beyond Nagi, it would be stupid if the main character was invincible); yes, his group probably will be defeated again and again and again; and no, they will not take over the world. That made me laugh, good job.

What do you think they'll do after beating up all the bad guys? Go back to a normal life. YOu think all heros just want to obtain some amazing power just for the sake of having uber skills to beat up baddies? Thats pretty shallow if ever one only exist for that reason. Every hero has a reason to gain powers and thats mainly cause some baddy threatens them in the first place, or in this case search for dad who is involved in possibly dangerous situations. You don't dose water where there is no fire.

Lol, well i wasn't really serious about it. But i didn't say that that they would take over a country, only that they could. I never said that they were invincible either, and that i do believe that at some point one of them really does die, or should. Just to bring them back down to earth. Also, it would be a nice dramatic twist. Just hope that if it does happen, they won't do something utterly silly and ridiculous like what they've done in the series. About Godlike powers though, maybe he's the son of God :P, like a british Jesus of the magic world, and like all his allies are like Apostles or something lol. And it would be like a mock-up of a strange mix of DBZ and Saint-Seya lmao.
