hahaha maybe it could be true well if the creator of msn make it that way lol XP, but maybe because nagi is such a play boy so he probably made many girls cry and some powerful mage who is a female probably cursed his ass down to become a kid without memories lol XP
i don't like the whole nagi is negi because it doesn't make any sense. first off their personalities are different. even with a memory wipe the personality should still be there. second kotaro and the bartender said that nagi was an idiot (them and a whole bunch of other people) and negi is not. negi is always worrying about stuff. third negi does not look exactly like nagi, the hair is different.
Wow. You repeated what I just said? Anyone paying attention at all? Whatever. And Negi and Nagi's hair styles are the same, you just don't see a similarity because Negi ties his hair at the back. If he let it go, then they'd look alike alot. Even if it was different, how does that make it relevant? People cut their hair and set it off in different styles.

I don't think this theory has really too many relevant holes, cos' the past of Negi is not especified yet. Yes, we saw someone who gave him his "father's" staff and we assumed that he had to be Negi's father. We know that wasn't Al who gave it to him, but it could be someone else, why not? The differences in personalities could be explained just, if we imagine that for some curse or high-level magic to protect x person (let's say Asuna) Nagi lost his age and memories in a permanent way, this soposedly two parts of himself had differnts experiences in life. Now this Negi (ex-Nagi) is tryin' so hard to be just like his father and studied and studied. Maybe he is a "podigy" just because part of his subconscience knos already how to do it. This can be observed in the fight against Eva, when he used the exact same trick. About Negi being thunder user and Negi wing mage... feels like naruto or pokemon all over again :P
Furthermore, Negi's birth, from my point of view, isn't very clear either. I mean, c'mon! who the hell is his mother... she doesn't care? Is it possible to have a child who looks exactly like you without being married to your sister? (well, it's possible, but really unlikely) And who is his onee-chan? I doubt that she is really his sister.
About that comment that Albireo (sorry, Colonel Sanders) gave to Eva about "never meet Nagi again" i'll explain it with just one sentence: "He likes to mess with her". C.S., who also knows Nekane and Anya, when brougt back the Nagi ilusion he said that in his memories his son isn't born yet... I just read manga with translations cause' I don't know japanese. But I don't think he implied that he was already conceived... so, maybe he thinks he is his son, cause he looks just like him.
BUT I don't think this theory can really be true and the reason is very VERY subjetive... I DON'T LIKE THIS STORY... I think the implications are... wrong! absolutly anti-climatic, because (in a way) he's chasing for someone that he could never reach. I would be berry sad at the end (only compared with the end of Ichigo 100%, but that's another story). And I don't think Akamatsu it's a meanie. I mean, read Love Hina!
(well, sorry for my english, you see, I speak Spanish, so...)
the only hole in this theory in my point of view is 'the guy who gave the staff to negi' if it was someone else then this theory is plausable but if the guy is his dad then say goodbye...
although im doubting that it is somebody else because most of nagi's party is either dead or not the one who gave the staff to negi i.e. Al (colonel sanders) said it wasnt him, takamachi's master cause he's dead, the leader of kansai (konoka's dad) since he hasnt seen nagi in a long time + he didnt say anything to negi about it... "even i dont know anything but that... im sorry negi-kun" meaning he has no clue about what happend to the 1000 master, and his remaining comrade the huge one with the sword really doesnt look like the person negi saw... (if you want info on nagi's party check the picture of nagi and co. in chapter 53 vol6)
yeap, but we don't really know that... We can only hope that is HIS father and not, for example, Negi's Ilusion from Al (In that way, Al wouldn't have done anything either).
If Nagi is Negi then wouldnt Albiero's Pactio with Nagi card be linked to Negi? which would mean Negi would have to have the original card, Also Albiero's card is different from the cards Negi makes(slightly).
Hahaha this actually made more sense to me then the original theory of this thread. Even as improbable as it is it'd be a funny way to end the series.

When Negi is in his older form, his eyesight seems to have improve to the point where he doesn't need glasses most of the time.
Nagi is a powerful mage. Sort of strange since he is a magic school dropout. He needs to use a notebook to use a spell. When Nagi uses the notebook, he must be a very fast reader. He is seen using the notebook in Ch. 169, and in Evangeline's dream.
Nagi disappeared before the birth of his own son. Oddly, we don't know the identity of Negi's mother. Some assumed that Negi's mother died sometime before Nagi saved his son Negi. I like the ideal of Negi's mother being alive. Like Nagi, her whereabouts are unknown if she is still alive.
Negi's main element of magic is wind. He does have the ability to use lightning attacks. He is a powerful mage like his father Nagi and his mother. Nagi is able to use wind since he can use wind to help him fly.
Pina's agruement is similiar to another Manga comic book series which I am reading, too. The Series is call "Samurai Deeper Kyo." The main character of the series has another spirit processing his body. It is likely that Nagi and Negi can be the same person.
I do want to know more about Negi's own family. In my last posting, I suggest that Negi may be a member of the Magic World's Imperial Family. Being a member of the Magic World's Imperial Family can explain why Negi is a powerful mage at the age of ten.
In Ch. 169, there is a clue which confirms the presence of the Magic World's Imperial Family.
