Thread: Akos' scar - accident or Victim of a Psychopath?

So anyone ever wondered how she got so a large scar on her back? It's quite obvious it's a traumatic event in her life. So how did she get it?
These are my favorite theories on how she got so messed up:

1.)

"She went through a super-emo phase"

And cutting her wrists just wasn't enough!


5.) She was in a car accident when she was a child: Instinctively ducking her head saved her life, but a shard of glass from the rear windshield was rammed up her back cutting her badly, luckily, it barely missed her spine, leaving her hurt but alive.

4.) She had to get an operation to realign her back after getting in a sever collision during a soccer game. As she was on the operating table, an earthquake suddenly shook the entire hospital complex. The stunned surgeon fell forward with his scalpel and dove inter her back. Luckily, as he was falling, he started pulling his arm back up, thus cutting her rather than stabbing her.

3.) A Psychotic killer set loose in the streets of tokyo stalks little children. Ako unfortunately caught his eye, and after stalking her after school for a few days, he decides to make his move and attacks her. Luckily for her, a good summaritan around the corner rushed to help her, but he arrived there with just enough time to grab her out of the way, unfortunately, the machete made a shallow cut into her skin instead of cutting right through her.

seriously... can anyone actually see it or not? based on the reaction from the others whenever they changed their clothes... I'd say they don't.. though that's just my assumption...

She received the scar after 2nd Impact, when shrapnel hit her and left her bleeding to death. Her father whom she hated at the time stuck her in the only remaining capsule so she would survive and raise mech pilots in her 2-bedroom apartment alongside a warm water penguin.

just a thought,
IMO, that scar probly caused by some magic incident when she's a little kid, cos as far as MSN goes, there's hints that in a way or another most kids and adults in mahora are related to magic whether they realized it or not. heck, Ako could be from a mage lineage but due to the wizard wars and stuff, her parents just keep it out of her.
anyway, mostly she VERY sensitive about it, also at paranoid-level like some UFO junkie. But, in the end its up to akamatsu-sensei to tell us who, what, when or why the scar's there.

Does it matter? All she cares about is that it is a physical blemish on her body. Girls are sensitive where their appearances are tainted pernamently because they are worried that guys find it a turnoff. Its not indicated that there was any traunmatic event that the scar serves to forever remind Ako of, like we find with many story protagonists with a 'signature' scar.

Of course it doesn't matter! But thats really besides the point ain't it, since this thread is to suggest hypothesis on how she got it, now how relevant her scar and her character is to the overall development of the story.

When i think giant scar, i think diluted pupils staring freakishly at a pool of blood, flashes of violent scenes of death and carnage flashing in the mind of the protagonist who is subsequently driven to insanity. And then brought back to normal through hypnotic PTSD treatments. And after seeing Negi getting hit by the spear, and seeing all the blood, something snaps within her, and an inner demon awakens, a lust for blood and gore, she kills the first person closest to her at the time (which i assume would be poor Akira, who was holding her as she passed out). Moments l8r, when Negi and his group would find Ako, she would be there staring silently at the bloodied corpse, a result of of her actions. She looks up at Negi and company. Calmly, cooly with a sadistic grin on her face, she says to them : "All the beautiful shades of red, in this sea of sorrow, join me in mourning for our lost comrade." Everyone else, frightened by the scene backed away slowly, while Negi, out of concern for Ako and intensely shocked at the scene in front of him, barely mutters out : "Wha...What...What the **** happened here?" while Ako silently stares at him still with that twisted grin on her face.
