Maybe it's not really a scar, but rather pigmentation oh her skin. It has been medically proven that psychological trauma have been known to be expressed through our bodies and particularly our skin as an example. High stress often expresses itself as acne, irritation or obsession can sometimes express itself as hives or rashes. Maybe her scar is really a physical representation of a past experience; most likely that of great betrayal, in other words, a backstab that hurt her mentally so much, that that pain chose to express itself as a change in skin texture/color to represent a stab in the back that still hasn't completely healed yet.

I believe Konoka's healing ability affects physical wounds and not so much deformities or physical attributes. Like a person born blind cannot be given sight, and an amputee cannot be given a new limb. Konoka has stated several times that she can only heal wounds that have occured within the past 3 minutes.

Lolers for evangelion reference there bastard king.

When i think giant scar, i think diluted pupils staring freakishly at a pool of blood, flashes of violent scenes of death and carnage flashing in the mind of the protagonist who is subsequently driven to insanity. And then brought back to normal through hypnotic PTSD treatments. And after seeing Negi getting hit by the spear, and seeing all the blood, something snaps within her, and an inner demon awakens, a lust for blood and gore, she kills the first person closest to her at the time (which i assume would be poor Akira, who was holding her as she passed out). Moments l8r, when Negi and his group would find Ako, she would be there staring silently at the bloodied corpse, a result of of her actions. She looks up at Negi and company. Calmly, cooly with a sadistic grin on her face, she says to them : "All the beautiful shades of red, in this sea of sorrow, join me in mourning for our lost comrade." Everyone else, frightened by the scene backed away slowly, while Negi, out of concern for Ako and intensely shocked at the scene in front of him, barely mutters out : "Wha...What...What the **** happened here?" while Ako silently stares at him still with that twisted grin on her face.
    oh...kay. Then again maybe not.

I have no idea what Fang Vice Addiction is. Most of what i wrote is inspired by my experience from watching Evangelion. Man that show had such an impact on me. When i think crazies, i think Shinji!

Anyone else wanna contribute a theory or two?

Heres another rather plain one: The radiator in Ako's house explodes causing the building to go up in flames. Caught by herself at home alone, a burning wooden beam breaks under the stress and lands on her back. The firemen save her, but not before the fiery beam burns a large mark across her back.

i think she has something to do with the magic kingdom when she got that scar. she runs away from there, the principal took her in, put her in takamichi's class so they can keep a close look at her (now negi's), and they erase her memory trying to cover the bad stuff just like asuna...

weird thing that almost every girl in 3-a never talks about their parents... maybe they put every girl that somehow has connection to the magical kingdom in takamchi's class? since there are no story about any other student (in the same grade and school) that has magical ability told here.
