Yeah, no doubt this will blow chunks and basically be three seasons of crappy jokes and panty-shots.
The worst part though? Negi is being played by a girl, so even if he series IS good, theres no chance in hell that it'll be contingent with the manga since the manga has such a long time span, and I'm guessing "he'll" eventually be looking more and more girlish eventually, girl negi *shivers*
Onto the other issue...
Most of you are sitting there saying that Negi is "British", this is only partially true. Just because he's FROM Britain doesn't mean he's acctually of European descent,
In fact, though it hasn't been confirmed, Nagi seems to be Japanese and we have no idea what his mother looks like, so for all we know he's not of a British descent at all.
uh... question is... where'd the Springfield family name come from?
that's the only mind boggling question right now that I have... I mean... there's no way there's a Springfield family name in Japan...
Good point, but then again, who the hell is named Negi in Britain?

Also considering that it was Nagi who saved Asuna in the magic realm, we'd have to assume that Nagi was either in Japan's magic realm, or Asuna herself has some Brit in her... Honestly the entire thing is confusing, but right now I'm sticking to the theory that Negi is AT LEAST 50% Japanese
probably... Negi is Japanese for spring onions after all...
so... he could be 50-50.. just like you have stated...
