I think the manga is the best. Also its the original ans it has more detail and stuff. The anime is cool, but it was too fast, and doesnt stick to plot most of the time. The second season made no sense, like the pactio cards and stuff

    The manga's waaay better.
the first one's finished, stays with the manga but with a twist at the end.
Misses a few details from the manga.
The second's just a spin-off. It can be nice to watch, if you're bored. I guess.

There are select episodes from the first anime that are really worth watching. Of my favourites are the ones on Sayo's story and the twist around episodes 22 to 24.

Sayo's story is especially worth watching because there's no equivalent in the manga series to compare it to, so it's unique on its own. Well actually there's an equivalent in the manga but it's more a filler than an actual story about Sayo. And the story in the anime isn't bad at all, quite touching really. At the end of it, you really have to feel not just for Sayo but for Kazumi and the Principal as well.

Another episode I like is the one where Negi and Asuna are suppose to ambush Chachamaru (Episode 7). Actually I only like the segment where Negi and Asuna ambush Chachamaru. Although there's the manga equivalent, there's so much comical expressions in that episode that you really have to watch it (in Japanese with English subs of course). Those Seiyuus are really good.
