    he chose negi because it means spring onion in japanese which also happens to be the country's symbol(?) over there. though i thought nagi and negi were both japanese names.

    This is confusing. Are we talking about the possibility of Negi's namesake within the story or without? If without then I'd say Ken has a pretty good sense of humor. Within, possible Nagi noticed the potential humor and symbolism with that name and gave it to Negi (otherwise it might be a coincidence). Who knows? I only guess so since Nagi seems to be the only one with the sense of humor name his son 'onion'.

    If you don't have anything useful to say, don't say anything. That's spamming.

    as for bozu, i cited this articel from wikipedia (thank you wikipedia !
    )

    "Negi's name is actually a pun: Negi in Japanese means scallion, also known as green onions, spring onions or, vitally, Welsh Onions, and are in the same family as the leek, which is a national symbol of Wales. He likes spring onion kabobs with grilled chicken, because his name is in it. His nickname, "Negi Bozu", is another pun since while "Bozu" can be translated as "brat", "Negi Bozu" literally means "Onion Head". Evangeline, being a vampire, hates green onions. "
    There.

    Ummm...

    I'm new and I don't like intro threads so this is as close to an Intro as I'm getting...

    Uh... Couldn't it just be that Nagi having spent time in Japan decided to name him in Japanese... Mabey he liked spring onions a lot...

    That's all I got...
