please think about it. ONE: Nagi has a pactio with Al which is stillac activated, which was given before he was acclaimed to have died.
TWO: Nagi's past is not a mystery people know all sorts of things about the AAA and him failing magic school.
THREE: Negi is completely different in terms of personlality from Nagi
and there are a lot of things i thought about that i forgot to mention.... but yeah, i dont think that negi could possibly be nagi

Though I do not possess volume 1 of the manga... and someone else will hopefully back me up on this finding with wikipedia, I do acknowledge the fact that wikipedia isn't always reliable. You have to admit the influence from Harry potter is strong. Yes there are great many key differences, the plot of the two being a huge one. And there are more similarities between the two characters then just the both being wizards or mages at a young age. both are British, both are basically orphans, and both had tragedy strike their lives at a younger age,and both have proven to be extraordinarily diligent in their own right. As one could see, you'll have a hard time telling people not to compare the characters. Just the way it is I guess.

Also as for the whole "Just another theory thing". You might want to take a closer look at the title of this thread. It's a list of theories. as for my original theory I'm still sticking by it... and if it's proven wrong during the run of the series more power to all of you who've voted against it.

    P.S
Notice the how similar the facial features of Nagi and Negi are. I belive even Asuna would even mistaken an Adult Negi for an Adult Nagi. She even comapred the two during their little "Practice date" chapter when Negi used those age deception pills. Again this is all theory and speculation. Try no to take it to harshly.
True, when nothing else to support their case, people will cling to the LCD (lowest common denominator) arguement. Yet here I am pointing out how shallow the theory is, ain't it wonderful? 'Young orphan child with a tragic past'..... give me a moment to compile a list of books and stories with similar such characters beginning with Oliver Twist. (just kidding, it be too long for even me to peruse).

I have nothing against putting up 'theories' on our 1000 master..............as long as we have some variety present and not just some excuse for persistant conspiricists to palm out the same discussed theory with little credibility to go by.
I thank that one person to admit the fragility of the theory even if they still support it, (respect +)

Now I will offer my own theory so we don't dwell on bygones: Negi's staff holds the key to rip into other dimensions to allow Negi to seek his father. I won't place complete confidence in this theory due to the near absense of evidence in support but if there ever needs to be a plot device leading Negi to dad, it would be the only heirloom Negi ever received fom his father. It would be nice to think that Nagi had prepared for whatever crisis currrently happening in the mage world and handed the one artifact capable of reuniting his son to himself.

Ah, my conspiracist senses are tingling........

The unknown mother of Negi. I also wondered why Negi never mentioned his real mother or ever wondered about her, even if his 'sister' did raise him.
Well, I am sure Negi wasn't born asexually (fyi: means reproduce without a partner).....or maybe it is? fufufu.

Heres another theory for you: Negi is really a child clone of the 1000 master. Nagi could had disappeared due to an ongoing crisis involving the international/dimensional disputes between mages/demons/magic beings and 'made' Negi to inherit his legacy (note: the staff being one of those artifacts pertaining to his legacy) in the mortal human dimension. This grand plan also involved protecting Asuna (the school teacher assignment was a conspiracy probably) and compling an pactio team lead by said Asuna and Negi (oh Chamo, very well placed you perverted agent), to improve their combat prowess (obvious since Negi aspires to become strong like daddy) and eventually get involved with the magic conflict which caused Asuna's relocation to Mahoura high as a child (ah Albeiro you slick guy, giving such delicious hints to Nagi's situation to Eva and letting the information pass around to take effect).

I have 25% confidence that something of that sort will happen (15% for the clone bit XD ).

    Too complicate your theory is.
I have the same thought that Negi is actually Nagi. However, I think maybe because Nagi made some kind of terrible mistake that he could not forgive himself, so he turn himself into a baby, and try to live another life.

Ok, here's another conspiracy theory for you conspiracy lovers:
Negi is a construct (or somerthing along the lines) created by Nagi for unknown purpose. As Negi was to seem a real person, a normal childhood was needed. So Nagi created a whole village of lower-quality constructs (with maybe a couple of real people to become Negi's friends) to give Negi a childhood. But this could be found out when Negi grew older and better at magic, so Nagi sent a horde of demons to hide the fact these mages at Negi's village were artifical. Also, it stimulated Negi to become stronger.
Futher, Nagi arranged for Negi to go to Mahora, where a powerful and extermely evil vampire was imprisoned. She was to teach Negi to be evil, so that Negi wouldn't hesitate on his mission. Evangeline agreed willingly, because she loved Nagi. And an extra decade of school life meant little to ageless vampire.
The next step it this grand plan would be for Negi to come to magic world and on a command set within him to go on a rampage. To free 1000 master, to crush those isolationists, or maybe to take over the world and hand it over to Nagi.
Eh? too complex for 'that fool' ? but remember, in Eva's dream he was preparing in advance, not only he knew Eva's weakess, but took the trouble to use it (he could just crush her with power). And he has a number of friends to advice him.
    Scary, isn't it?

What about the time Negi study at magical school? Do you think all of these powerful mages there won't realize?? And Eva chan did suck blood out of him. "Negi as a construct" is a flaw theory.

Well, you can make a construct of biological parts through magical genetic engineering or somerthing. will it be rather called a clone then? i think not.
And Negi seems to have all of 1000 master's virtues, while not suffering from his major troubles. too much for a single person, don't you think?

That construct theory makes my clone theory even more plausisble by comparision, complicated or not....jeez. At least I'm putting some elements in the manga together of what we do know to hypothesis, those of which are somewhat more substantial than Negi looking like Nagi and Negi looking like Potter (and time travel).

My theory banks on Negi's as yet unnannounced mother and I don't mind if she will ever get mentioned in the future to debunk my theory (I would love to see Nagi's missus; she will probably look like Negi's 'sis').

Constucts have no belly button... Yet he is drawn with one all the time, good manga artists give the bellybutton to help say, Yes I am drawing humans...
    (Well in my mind anyway...)
Clone... Bah don't make me laugh. That sounds like a Boba Fett thingy...

We might as well admit that Chao IS an Alien from out of space... (Que OctipiChao)
Don't forget that she is a Blood desendent of Negi, Constructs in the end are compleatly strile (Man my spelling bad) and such and even if it was a really really really (repeate many more times) well made construct. It would be hard to create him, even if Nagi, the Pocketbook Mage, could do it...
And clones Im pretty sure are not spos to breed, it would remove the point of being human...
For a Clone to Breed, they Clone themselves again...
