I can read some Japanese, but not a lot. So in this chapter it looks like Chao's going to go away. I really doubt she's really going to be gone though because she seems like an important character.

bleh, how long does it normally take to sub a mangachapter?
I guess i should learn some recent japanese to read the raws :|

It entirely depends on the scanlating Team, usually what slows it down are some of the following:

1. short on translators, cleaners, editors, etc. (a scanlating team is good as dead without a translator)
2. schedule conflicts by the staff members (slows down the process)
3. absence of manga raws
4. Priority manga (If the scanlating team has other manga that they are translating usually the fastest would be the most priority, the slowest obviously the least priority)
5. Lack of interest on the manga project
6. absence of scanlating team (one of the worst reason)
7. Batch release (they wait for a certain number of chapters/ volume to finish before they release)
8. They are simply making you wait (They know the manga is great, and they want you to patiently wait )
9. Manga release in Japan (some are release weekly, monthly, per volume, etc)
10. The mangaka/ publisher drop the manga for some reasons (the worst)
11. etc....

Don't forget that the scanlation teams are doing the scanlatings on their own free will, not that they HAVE TO do it. We should thank them, not complain why they aren't releasing chapters on time.. They also have other things to worry about.

Back to the topic..

I haven't read the raws yet (not that I'll understand anyway), but I guess it's quite possible that Chao might go away, and maybe somehow Negi follows her and tries to stop her.. And then maybe the connection between Negi & Chao is explained (as in, how they're linked by blood).

I'm now more curious who Negi ends up marrying... I'd like to draw conclusions based on how chao looks, but I know it's been sevearl generations, and so much time that she would not resemble any other female in the class. Anyway, I'm afraid to sound like a noob, on this board but I guess it might be inevitalbe, but are the transltors waiting for a bit and release grouped up translations of a bunch of chapters. I'm really eager now, because I just finished up catching with with the manga and where it is yesterday.

i never thought it that way, but yeah. if he goes to the future then he'll know who he'll marry. kind of like Nobita from Doremon, he knows he married Xuka in the future.

considering Chao is pretty smart with it might just be the science girl, then if u take in her chinese like head wear it could be Ku Fei. sumhow it seems she resembles everyone in class.
