Thread: What do you think of this??

I was at bookshop when I saw Negima Vol. 1 available on the bookshelves. Without thinking, I bought and happily heading home. To my horror, all the character's names are all fucked up. I'm soo piss off I sold it to the second-hand book shop the next day. Btw, on the cover, the mangaka names not Akamatsu Ken but Chesong Jian. What do you think of this??

Those who translate character names are scum and must have their names translated into different language every day as a punishment!

Yeah... I have the same copy. That's pretty much what you get for buying manga in Malaysia. We tend to mess with these things a lot, for some reason. The character names are excusable, but Chesong Jian? Why'd they have to credit someone else as the mangaka?

Also, most parts in the manga are coldly censored, which is gay, but that's okay. They did a decent job on the translation, even if they did screwed up the names.

I think Chesong Jian is ken's kanji pronunciation in mandarin dialict ^_^;.... jian.... ken... get it?

Hey..even i am pissed of with such messed up translation but some of my pals do collect it anyway..maybe they cant afford the del rey ones..and also having problems accessing the net..

well i buy it anyway...now i currently at vol 10,although i not really like the change of name...i buy it anyway..

it is usual things..
some fans that don't know the origin of the manga or unable to read at the right way are too excited with the story and in haste to tell everybody about this great thing. i think we should appreciate what he does (or did?) to introduce this manga.

luckily, i dont have that kind of problem in my country in the last 8 years..
