i don't think anyone can draw like Ken can. everyone has there different style. im good in drawing american style type drawings, and my manga drawings are kinda based off Clamps art.

*is able to draw, but can't make a plot short enough to have a chance of completion*

it takes a lot of hard work to draw a manga...
and it won't be rewarding probably, cause there are so many mangaka around...
if you want to have success, not only you'll need great drawing skills, but also some sort of literary talent.

My theory is, based on the incredibly huge success of Love Hina, with his new manga he was given a rather large budget, with which he was able to hire a larger team of assistants and better and more plentiful art supplies and items for drawing and such(IE: computers, different types of ink[the gray scales in negima are amazing] ect.). I don't know though, that's just how it seemed to me.

The way I see it, "manga" is the Japanese word for comics, so in other words, manga means "Japanese comics". Therefore if it isn't Japanese, then its not manga, its just a comic.

    No, definately not.
Also, there are many diferent styles of manga (just compare any two manga-kas), so manga is definately not a style.

So we can't be manga artists (if not japanese), but we can draw in a style typical to manga (which isn't a style at all, but a word for japanese comics).

See? Not hard to understand at all. Now what guy will look that closely at our passports to determine our authenticity as a japanese artist? If we're asian, and we're good, it's in the bag. No racism intended.

well different people may interpret manga in different ways whether it is being able to draw in a "manga" (japanese) style art... or being a japanese comics... or having a japanese ethnic background... heck it should be up to you if you want to pass your drawing as manga or non-manga or american or cartoon or whatever you like... i mean lets say (this is just an example) a japanese man draws a doodle... do we say its a manga? or just a doodle? an american man draws like an anime styled drawing... is it a comic or a manga? its just that everyone interprets it differently... ;D
You know what? I heard that if two people go to toudai together... Then they can...
