I don't think so. though they're both look similiar but they're absolutely different in personality.
and if it is true, then how nagi come back to save negi 6 years ago when he still a child? plus, remember what Albireo says that nagi is definitely still alive (he said nagi not negi)

Good theory, yet I highly doubt it.
What may be possible in my opinion, is that Negi went back into time 6 years after his father's "death" to give himself the staff... Yet I highly doubt this one as well, and would hope that Ken does not take this route within the storyline X3

and the possibility of going back in time to kill his father to obtain the staff is just absurd as well. already too much time travel.
