Thread: Do you think the new anime should start over?

Well, the first series was a BIG disappointment. And, since a new series is being done, I heard that the OVAs are gonna be used to set up the stage from the first series... In other words, they're continuing the story from the first series (which sucked, according to many people, and my opinion as well.) So, what do you think?

i think that it should start from the beginning
and i think everyone who disagrees with me will get a Negi up thier butt and Naruto stuffed down thier throat, ill drown you in Bleach. not to mention ill beat you with One Piece of a Black Cat, and call 666-Satan to pick up your soul for special delivery

I agree! It should start in the beginning... Slowly but Surely... First Series was rushed!

yea, i would like it to start from the beginning and the manga as an actual cannon for the anime.

I agree with all of you the new series should start over it wouldnt be very intelligent to continue from the previous series not only because it will be like a condemn to mediocrity also because if it is a continuation what was the whole point of changing the studio that is doing this new series.
I also hope it follows the manga more closely but then again it may not and as long as they make an entertaining product that can compare to the quality of the manga I think I will be satisfied.

It doesn't even matter if it does.

If you read the latest scanlation they had a translated section in the back dealing with the OVAs and the new series.

They are going with an entirely different plot for the new series, same characters and locations but it isn't going to follow the manga at all, they're going to do what they want with it.

I'm mostly upset because the series is ongoing. To me this alternate plot is like an excuse to do high budget fanfiction, I wouldn't be so upset if the manga had already ended (or if they hadn't crapped all over it with the first anime series) but oh well.

Also, it is going to be family friendly, no more fanservice.

I want them to start over and follow the manga better, or at least pretend eps 25-26 didnt happen

Wait a minute, let's all see how this turns out. If it sucks, then... We know what to do.

I'm still hoping it'll be okay but Akamatsu hasn't had much luck, in my opinion, when his series are made into anime.

I'll post the little announcement thingy and explain what scares me.



They say 'With a similar animation to the OVAs'... that is exactly what happened the first time, we got the beautiful looking OVAs and then the actual TV series was complete crap.

And while I like the character designs, they've also already started with the same things that Xebec did, such as randomly changing hair colors for certain characters, though they certainly aren't as drastic.

I don't understand how when people got pissed off the first time because they changed so much they decided, 'Hey, lets change even more!'

So yeah, I'll wait until they actually begin to decide wether or not I like it, but I am seriously bracing myself for if it is a disappointment.
