That was a common joke about the movie The Passion of the Christ. Sorry...thought you'd get the reference.

Truly, speaking about quality and such, anime is only 6-7 of 10, while manga is about 9 of 10.
after watching the first eps of negima, i immediately deleted it. the animation burnt my eyes. so, how did asuna go about dying and resurrecting in the series?
she made a deal with the devil or king of all demons or something to grant her magic imunity, as a cost, her life span is cut short, or something along that line
the anime realy mangled up the story realy badly thats all i got to say
I don't think thats quite true. I admit the relationship with the story is kinda coincidental at best but with most new series that are released are done with a 25 episode time scale (50 at most). This stops the animators with just coming up with complete crap just to keep the cash rolling in.

This also causes the writers to finish stories once the series has reached the final episode. Basiclly because they don't know if money would be forthcoming for a second series so rather than build up for another series and then find out that they won't get the funding for it, they try to kill the series without "killing" it.
If that makes any sense.
With Negima it almost seemed like they tryed to cover the main elements of the opening books, Kyoto, Mid-Terms etc. Then they found that they needed a way of bringing it to a close so someone obviously pulled the Asuna-Demon pact thing out of their a**e. Not that it wasn't a bad idea but I got to that point and just thought, "What the?!?! Where the hell did that come from??"
If it had been a kind of underlying thread for the whole thing then it would have been a bit more deep.
But I think I have gone on for long enough. Bloody university education has taught me that in order to say 1 sentence you have to make that sentence last over 30 pages...
Well MSN kind of went along the first 8 manga vol. (8 = kyoto arc), skipping alot however. It then continued with it's own ending, different from the manga. and supposedly, the next season is going to start on vol. 9 or 10, but that's a rumor. The anime wasn't bad, the storyline was nice, although it did skip hell of a lot. The artwork was pitiful, but I did like the audio.
