i also read negima alone through the edition del rey publishes and i find it worth my money imo and it's very well transqlated imo!the scans fans-scene has just been on their heads for the errors they made in the 2 first volumes(THERE ARE REPRINTS PEOPLE so in the beging they could trade their 2 first volumes in and gotten the reprint)

hmm...I like the scanlation better...well...i think.
In the english version Fei-san speaks kind of weird (I know she's chinese all in all and they tried to sound it like that but I still like the scanlation better. n_n)
And also, I like the way that some of the japanese characters are kept. It sound original or has more effect on the story(Example, I like the sound of Baka! rather than the word stupid.)

But still, I still think that it was worth buying the manga(english translated), even if it's really expensive.

I happen to enjoy them alot. The translation is well done and while there a few mistakes here and there its MUCH better than some of the other titles that have been released here.

i don't think she speaks broken japanese/english. i mean she is chinese but in the scanlations she speaks perfect japanese. i think the english version of the manga tries to reinforce the fact that she is chinese.

    My first post... good day!

I actually read other releases by Del Rey aside from Negima (namely Gundam SEED and Tsubasa Chronicles). I don't mind if they changed some things from the original script, since I don't understand the Japanese language.

I would like to buy their releases, despite that I have the scanlations, but if it weren't that expensive. I'd like to at least read the series lying down in bed.

But they keep some of it, I am pretty sure most of the "honorifics" are kept intact and they do call them the "Baka Rangers". Overall I agree with Ginrai the swordman, the few minor mistakes in the first two or so volumes aside Del Rey is doing a great job, but I also like the scanlations so I'd say get the Del Rey but in the mean time read the scanlations.

Also to the reprints the problem is all the books are sealed, so unless you unseal them how do you know if you are getting a reprint or not? You might very easily be getting another copy of the "Thousand Master" being the "Southern Master".
