Thread: Negi can freeze time?

If I recall, in the first part, Negi freezes the entire class instantaneously when the eraser is about to hit him. (except Asuna of course).

If he can do that without even an incantation, why doesn't he do it in combat? It worked against his strong students (like set-chan and that girl from the future), it should work againts some of his opponents.

...i dun think he froze the entire class...i think its more like he stopped the eraser from hitting him(something like auto-protect that is casted before hand?)...and no one noticed it but asuna...might be wrong though...

Looks pretty frozen to me. Asuna just sits there and turns her head while the others are frozen for a couple seconds until Negi notices Asuna.

Well..that´s true, but in the manga it just seems that it stops for a short time..like 0.1 seconds but Asuna noticed that..i think he used a wind tipe magic because that´s he´s speciality..i think my teory is a bit wierd @@

Well the truth is that they were thinking, "Hey, cool, he's a mage, but we have to work in some way for Asuna to be singled out as not effected by his magic, and to make her suspicious that he is a magician, I know! Let's have him freeze the class!"

Then later on...

"Oh crap, if he was capable of freezing all those uber-strong characters, shouldn't he be doing that to his enemies? Who cares! Just ignore it!"

he did the same when the accident with nodoka and the books i think was the second one and he did not stop time he only stop the object.

That doesn't explain why the entire class completely stopped moving until he undid the spell. (except for Asuna)

And with Nodoka, he actually like took out his staff and used a wind spell to slow her fall, not freeze her in place.

Could be they just made Asuna be the only one who noticed. To make her suspicious and stuff.
