Thread: What do we know about Nagi Springfield

I know we'll all end up having this discussion anyway, so I thought I'd start it off already.

We all know that Nagi is know as the thousand master, even though he admits to Angelina when he catches her that he doesn't know that many spells anyway. But what I find puzzling is that he says he is a dropout from the academy, which makes me wonder why he'd drop out because he seems very capable and heck all his companions look up to him (from what I could tell).

Could it be that Nagi's potential even in unpolished form is so extrodinary that it surpasses any expectation to Negi ?

Maybe he drop the academy because he done very bad at it. Remember that old wizard in the villige?? He talked that Nagi was a trouble maker. Or because somebody is after him and want's his power. Its only a teory.

Ya he seems kind of carefree and playful, Id imagine things like studying would not be entertaining enough for nagi to focus on them. Im sure he is just naturally gifted and learns his spells as he goes, thus he eventually learned 1000 techniques(Negi kind of does the same)? Thats my best guess.

umm... what if Nagi is capable of creating spells at will, I mean he makes up a rhyme and focuses on what the spell is suppose to do, and just cast it ?

Whilst Negi and normal mages has to look up incantation etc and memorize them.

I mean he probably looks up spells as he needs them and learns them pretty quickly. Kinda like how negi learned to use the missle spell as a punch or instant movement.

we really don't know much about Nagi, for all we know he could be one of a billion who makes spells the other mages can use, some kind of a God of Spells. Or he could be as gifted as I said and make spells on a whim. we're just guessing here.

Maybe he can lern spells just by watching other magicians doing it, just like sharingan users from Naruto (Kakashi copied about a 1000 jutsu with the sharingan).

didn't he admit that he only knew six spell tops in Evangeline's dream. plus thousand could mean a thousand partners like chamo said or some other meaning

Well, Thousand Master was said to have been explained to have mastered 1000 spells. So the thousand partners wouldn't make sense.

My guess is that he is just another one of those genius types who would rather play around then to actually work. That's probably the reason why he was a dropout. No doubt though that he is extremely strong, and he may have just been lying when he said he only knew 6 spells.

Maybe he really does only know six spells, but he's very effective at using them and other techniques - magical or not - to do things, so it appears as if he knows a thousand spells. Look at how he trapped Evangeline, after all.
