Thread: Will it get better on further volumes?

I've read till volume 5.. and in all honesty I just think its always the same plot over and over again;
Reborn makes some unusual situation and the main character has to solve it with the help of their "familia". All in all I wouldn't mind it, but what makes me think its always the same is the fact that the character remains the same and the end of the situations, he never evolves.
But, thinking a lot a head, if he has to take over a bad-ass Maffia family in the future, by simple logic he'll get really powerfull (like Dino, right?).

What I want to know is that, if he will evolve and eventually be able to stand on his own (or be the core of power of his "familia")

Edit: Hm, don't see the "delete" button, anyway I read in another thread that from c62 onwards the manga takes the Accion paths and goes all out. And I can confirm it, the manga gets "serious" and u see some good fights.

Actually, I like the character as they are especially Tsuna. He may be not the greatest guy but when his friend and family are under attack, he can be so cool which I started to love reading the manga when he first enter hyper-mode. The character doesn't change their behavior and attitude made me like the manga more since other manga I read usually the heroes when became stronger their attitude change to be more serious but Tsuna and others especially Yamamoto doesn't change as their maintain their original attitude.

Other things that I love this manga is their weapon and fighting style. When I watch Bleach, it was great at first but I get bored sometimes since many manga and anime usually use sword and katana but Hitman Reborn is different. I never thought I see a character using glove(Tsuna), dynamite(Gokudera) or Tonpa Baton(Hibari). Beside that, the style which Yamamoto wield his katana is different as he used his environment to create a unique skill like the reflecting rain but the awesome one is when he change hand as he release the blade for the other hand to grab and swing it against his stun foe. If we actually look at reality, it's a great risk since we don't know what the enemy reaction are. Usually, I see character from other manga held both hand or single handed but I rarely seen one which portray full swordsmanship as they had special attack like making a sonic wave or something (This is also why I like Samurai Deeper Kyo and Samurai X).

So, I expect more from this series in the future. Beside, it had a mafia style rather than the common use samurai and ninja stuff.

No, it doesn't get any better, in fact, it gets worst. At least in the beginning, there was a bit of humor, but it eventually descends into something like Bleach, except the characters are lamer, the dialogue cliche'd and tear-jerking(In a bad way), and the weapons....using magic rings to open up magic boxes with "will power". It's like the author was so lazy they had to make a universal method of getting powers without having to explain every individual one, which is okay especially since a lot of other mangas do it but really, ****ing boxes? That's almost as lame as the pacifers.

And I don't get where the supposed "mafia" theme is coming from. Apart from the pseudo-Italian names(Vongola means clam and Varia is just a town...does the author even know Italian?), there is nothing that resembles the mafia.

True. It mutated to a typical shounen-beat-em up-manga. Do you remember when bleach was fun? fighting hollows and protecting ghosts? .....same in Hitman. Even though the fights are pretty decent, the dialogue is so clished you know what they are saying in the raws, the story..........time travel.....parallel dimentions.....grabing too far into the ideabucket......and...YES WTF HAS THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ITALIAN MAFIA???????????? Itally is my neihbouring country and except for some fashion styles I haven't seen one Italien face.

Ok, let me clear things up. I know that Bleach is one of the greatest manga now but I don't compare it with Hitman Reborn. I know that Bleach fight is superb than Hitman Reborn but Bleach and Hitman Reborn are two different manga/anime under different Mangaka so we have to respect how they think and draws.

At the time, I read the part where Tsuna first got his weapon (the X glove) the drawing was so mesmerize to me that I change my favourite manga from Bleach to Hitman Reborn. I know that Bleach was amazing but after reading Gokudera fights with dynamites, Yamamoto fights with his own unique stance, Hibari fought with Tonpa, Chrome and Mukurou using illusion, Ryouhei using boxing and other characters using their own self-style, it feels like I woke up to new brand of concept. You see, Bleach used Samurai concept while Naruto used Ninja, I feel like Japanese mangaka and other state comic writer got stuck on the same whole concept of blade and sometimes, I felt like they used the same swordstyle, using one-hand and swing it randomly. When I read the part where yamamoto switch his grip on the blade or changing hand and when he used the water to make reflection, it likes finally someone break the concept and seem to learn that using sword isn't just swinging since style and art could create a whole new way of swordplays. Dynamites usually seen as someone throwing them hoping to get lucky and blow up the slow reaction guys but in case of Gokudera, he knows when to throw it and the way he used it. So, what I am saying is that the mangaka knows what he's doing, it feels like he know what he was drawing and the concept he used but the most impressive things to me is that everything seems to be more humanly possible, it not like they to go to Super Saiyan levels.

Now on the storyline. Ok, the future stuff and parallel world stuff really does sound bizzare but I already expect this stuff except for the parallel world. The ten-year bazooka was already introduced when Lambo appeared and the concept of the exchanging of the present and future Lambo was explained so I wasn't surprised Tsuna and the others got themselves in the future and to make them stay in the future, there must be an event that forced them this and I got a bit confused until Irie explained all the stuff. The parallel world concept is one of the common theory that anything happened in the past affect the future sounds perfectly normal to me since there were many ideas were given in science even in game, comic and manga so when Tsuna leaned that aside from his world, the other dimensions were completely under Byakuren world because everything occured because of Irie fault(Lambo too) that the other dimension slowly affected, too. It just like the movie 'the one' starring Jet Li (unless I am mistaken) so the mangaka concept was logic, too. The pacifier right now I think it just act like the Vongola ring holding some kind of mysterious power like the Vongola ring but haven't been explained like the mare ring so I just hope there is a better explanation in future episodes. The box system is a new idea to me which I think got from the idea in a fun-bah it up game like one piece in ps one or onimusha blade warrior crazy(fun) arsernal so I think the box is like a storage and within it contain the crazy arsernal. When Lal first used the centipede box and Ganma used the foxes, why don't add some lion, horse, dolphin, cat and others along with it. Those animals seem like to play as summon or GF in the FF series so why can't they be acting as the support unit to the characters? One more thing, the fight against Varia and Mukurou weren't random thing since it had some mafia element, I don't think it becoming an action manga coincidentally.

I know that the characters are lame especially Tsuna but to me, it's not true since Tsuna is my most favorite character. Usually, character when they got tough they change sometimes to aggressive and always cool but not Tsuna. Even though he looks cool sometimes but the characteristic of Tsuna being no good, weak and laughable never change thats why I like Hitman Reborn because no matter what each characters remain true to themselves and great development concept which I respect the manga.

Another thing about the Mafia, I didn't mean they be full-mafia. I was saying the mangaka used Mafia theme, not going Samurai and Ninja but dressing in black suit and have a family clan or gang. I thought mafia originated from Italy or maybe because Italy had the strongest influence or connection with Mafia so that why the Mangaka used Italy than other nation. If he used Japan, he would be using Yakuza but maybe he likes Mafia concept more, who knows. Beside that, I think Vongola and Varia were just some random stuff or maybe it sounds to cool that he pick them up. Who knows? No one is perfect.

I know I post a long post but a final remark is that although Hitman Reborn isn't great like Bleach or Naruto but I feel it has its own self-concept and a great storyline that it was getting better for me to continue reading.
