Default Who did you expect to die in the final battle?

one of the biggest discussions on the site i read the series on was who was going to die in the final battle. everyone had an opinion who would die and besides naraku everyone expected one of the good guys to die.

    and then everyone survived.

personally i expected miroku to die just because he disregarded everyone's warnings and activated his wind tunnel. even though he had done it many times before, the fact that he ignored what his friends said (even though he was trying to help) raised the possibility he would die.

who did you think would die?

I was pretty sure Kohaku was going to die at some point, although I'm a bit happy he survived - it was almost a pleasant surprise.

With everyone else... well, *maybe* Inuyasha. I was a bit dissatisfied at the fact that no one died simply because it felt a bit too much like a happy ending, but I probably would've complained at that too (except for Sesshoumaru).

Yeah, Kohaku surviving seemed aimless. There was no real reason to let him live. Miroku was so obviously going to die, it also came as a surprise that he didn't.

I kinda felt that Inuyasha should die. He'd done a pretty poor job of chosing Kagome and I thought that if she was going back to her real life, it would give everyone closure if Inusyasha was dead. Kagome could have the whole tragic heroine thing going for her.

I like the idea of happy endings, but for the most part I find that the harsh endings, the ones where the characters die, or are so completely altered by the experience that they can never go back - those are the endings that stay with me, long after I have forgotten about the other characters.

At some point I thought Kohaku is gonna die,but he didnīt (good for Sango ^^).

The Happy End was pretty appropriate for Inuyasha I think, because all characters had a pretty shitty past,so at least their futures lives should be better ^.^
