What do you mean it wasn´t Ranma?Meh....now I have second thoughts bout Ranmas end...
And don´t answer,I´m gonna finish Ranma 1/2 tomorrow I think (only two books/volumes left)
@ Shippou : yes you are right ^^ - but how long does a Hanyou live anyway? (btw, the scene where Kagome calls Sesshoumarou Onii-chan is so kawaii (actually not,but it´s cool xD))
InuYasha looked as if he was in his teens when Kikyō sealed him with that arrow. Fifty years passed after that, and he still looked young. At the very least, he must have been 65 years old when Kagome met him. Most likely, InuYasha will live for a couple of centuries (i.e. assuming nothing happens that may get him killed).

I've stopped reading or following this manga since Kikyou died(for real). And the ending with Kagome being able to come was just....terrrble(like Charles say).
"It wasn't Ranma" as in "Ranma had a far more inconclusive and kinda bad ending". =P
Considering that Takahashi didn't address it - hanyou might just live as long as humans (modern-day, let's say - maybe 100 years total). Two of the three we've seen apparently aged normally, and god knows what was up with Jinenji; he acted like a 30-year-old who lived in his mother's basement, and he probably was. I sort of assumed Inuyasha was in suspended animation that entire time as it was a SEALING arrow and he did fall asleep right away. Besides, nothing we've seen in the manga indicates that youkai live more than a few centuries - so why would that be the case for Inuyasha, who was probably barely out of puberty around the time?
Again, one would think that if Inuyasha was to live a REALLY LONG TIME, it'd have been addressed. I think it's just more likely that she forgot, but... well, he's gotta be part-human in some way, right? He's got the appearance and power of a demon; I guess it'd make sense to have that human weakness of aging faster.
^I just realized what you meant with Ranma after I posted xD yaaay^^
edit (Major RANMA SPOILER : WTF? From what I said I thought he´d transform back but he didn´t....But he can transform back any time actually, can´t he? - he just has to go to China again xD - the ending was pretty goofd though =) /spoiler end
And you have a good point too^^.Ah well, they´ll live together and be happy and have 1/3 Demon Kids and so on.... :D
1/4 demon kids, but yeah. =D It's a happy and fairly conclusive ending (we guess they got married, anyway).
^Ehmmm...whatever,I´m not good at maths :D :D :D
But it seems there´s not very much to discuss.....They should´ve opened subforums for ongoing mangas xD
I never liked how it doesn't explain why demons have suddenly gone extinct. Other than that, I thought the ending was very.. meh. The whole final battle felt rushed. The whole team got so buffed up that Naraku couldn't retaliate at all, it was the Shikon no Tama that got Kagome in the end of the battle... So yeah... the whole ending didn't feel like much of a conclusion at all. The whole complicated time issue leaves a lot to be thought about. (Also... what happened to Kouga? He was supposed to find some other way to help the group... he just disappeared in the end.)
In a way, the ending also didn't have a... Rumiko touch to it. She tends to end stories with room for plot (as far as plots go in her stories). Like for Ranma, it left room for crazy stories as to how he attempts to remove his curse and also leaves the marriage issue unsolved so that people can think up whacky fanfics to continue it.
Inu Yasha left no room for anything at all... Inu and Kagome got together, that ended all stories as far as relationships go, Shikon no Tama is destroyed so demons won't even bother their group anymore. There also cannot be any stronger demons out there besides Sesshomaru because if there was, that demon would either A) have ooposed Naraku or B) not bother messing with Inu Yasha's group.
Anyway, that's it for my rant. I really hope her next manga is more like Ranma in terms of comedy. I loved that manga...
Whoa, I just finished this. Took a bit longer than I expected (the story as well as my reading of it). Anyways, I liked the ending. I would have been just as happy if Kagome had stayed in her time though. I think the death of Naraku was enough to give closure to the story. I'm a little surprised at how happy and cheerful the ending was, and at how closed it was. It didn't leave much room for speculation. I'm not unhappy about that, just surprised.
