    Default Anime vs Manga

Hey I am watching the Ourgan High Shool Host club anime...at episode 9 right now. I just want to ask a few questions:

    1) has the anime been completed (all episodes released)
    2) Does the anime follow the storyline in the manga (so if i wanted to stop wathing the anime mid-way..i cud just switch over to manga)
    3) does the anime have filler episodes that are not in the manga..and does the manga have things in it that is not in the anime (sort of relates to question 2)

    4) Is the manga completed and all chapters released?

    5) In my eyes the 'boy' who is really a girl..(Haruhi) always looked like a girl to me...and i have always thought of her as a boy.. so this anime is really a girl x boy for me...but is it suppose to be thought as bxb ? (i knew Haruhi was a girl before i even watched anime becuz i saw an AMV and saw her in dress)

yup, thats all questions i got ^_^

One season of anime has been released, with no sign of a second in the works. None of the episodes are filler, but they took stories out of order from the manga (in order to sort things into a single chronological year), and skips some chapters; for details, see Wikipedia. The overall storyline is the same, regardless, though the anime only goes through volume 8, and the manga is ongoing.

Haruhi is a girl cross-dressing as a boy to work off her debt in both versions.

The last episode (or the last two episodes?) wasn't in the manga.

As Ouran does not have a real plot you could start reading volume 9 onwards after completing the anime. You'll have missed stories, but they are not essential to uderstanding what's going on.

Ah -- hadn't realized that, about the ending. (Can you tell I haven't watched that far?)

I wouldn't say filler stuff, but the relationships are the same, yes

there isnt rly any filler stuff in the anime... the manga has a few more stories goin on in it tho but ones u miss aint a huge thing the only filler eps in anime tho are last couple eps but that was done to make it so it can end

also the art in the anime is better than manga imo tho n anime is most likely gonna get a 2nd season to it tho n personally i prefer the anime than manga in this but since i hate bein left unfinished i started to read the manga which has 56 chapts translated n released so far to my knowledge n still ongoing and comin to an end i think or it leads ya on to believe that at least

Start from the beginning of the manga because the anime did change things - the only manga that I'd say you could skip parts of the manga after watching are Claymore and Death Note (of the ones I've seen). Sure, you may go over things that you saw in the anime, but I personally think it's more enjoyable, particularly for a manga like Ouran that, as Shadowbox said, doesn't really have a plot.

Also, there are filler-ish episodes in the anime; the Alice in Wonderland storyline did not resemble the original in any way except for the basic idea of an Alice in Wonderland story. I guess it could be said that the manga has filler too, but it isn't quite true that the anime follows the manga exactly.

it's really hard for me to say which is better. Both of them gave me different fellings. Manga gives us more informations about characters, there are more stories. The last two chapters of anime were changed by those who made anime, and they were very criticized. For me they were a bit out of story, but it didn't change my view of the whole project. I love both, manga and anime. They equally are worth seeing.

'kay guys, this is NOT a thread to discuss whether or not the anime or manga is better. There's a thread for that. If that's going to be the topic, then I'll lock this thread, and I might do that anyway since it seems the thread-starter's questions (yes, yes, yes, no, no) have been answered already.
