Lolz.. Me and my friend was just talking about it the other day, about the heroine (Haruhi) and main male support (Tamaki) being the opposite of the stereotypical loud, noisy, brash, impulsive female and the cool, "bishounen" mold of most lead males. Sure the comedy was exceptional, but along with the reverse stereotypes, it made the series (manga and anime) priceless. So far, I haven't found anything to match it, but I haven't checked out the suggestions presented here, so who knows..

I think Boys & Girl is pretty good if ur looking for humour and some romance. The male character is pure crack (especially when the drawing changes into a cat) but the heroine doesn't really stand out. I read it basically just for the humour (its actually a completed story on ST).

Hana Yori Dango first few volumes' drawing are ugly but it gets better on each volume. I think Yoko Kamio was quite a newbie when she started it.

Upon watching the new anime of Lovely Complex, I have to say that this series is definitely like Host Club. While the plots have very little in common, the comedy style is very similar. Love Com may have more romance than Host Club, and fewer good-looking men, but the series is full of humour and exaggerated characters that would definitely be seen in Ouran. The anime is quite good for an adaption - it can be a little off, but I prefer it to Ouran, by FAR! Anyone who did like the anime of Ouran will almost certainly like the Love Com one; the comedy style is very, very similar.

So if the style is what drew you to Ouran Koukou Host Club, not the idea of a poor girl in a rich school and a host club - this is definitely the manga and anime for you. ^_^

Which is interesting, given the manga aren't all that similar in style. Hmm.

Really? I was reminded of Ouran with the comedy aspects, although the plot and characters and all are totally different. The style of comedic characters whose romantic feelings are also manipulated into jokes wasn't similar?

...well, I thought so... It's a good manga, anyway.

Aside from they're both being romantic comedy, no I didn't see much similarity. Ouran's romance plot is barely there, where it's the main story in Lovely Complex; and the comedy has entirely different emphasis and styles.
