    Default Problem: port blocked

Hi, did a search and it doesn't seem that anybody posted this before.

I had very few problems previously, DLing directly, not worthy of bothering you for your free service.

But now it seems that you're using a port 81 connection for direct DLs, which is blocked from the ISP of where I'm getting most of the files.

Are you going to stick with it? Just curious, because as it is, I cannot get anything at all.

    Thanks.

Does your ISP also block port 8080?

Hi, thanks for your prompt response.

It seems so. The blockheads at my office's ISP blocked almost everything, even some ports I need for actual work (with online databases for instance). I think I have open just ports 80 and another one, 21 I guess. The guys there used Soulseek a lot, and the ISP found out and got an excuse for their lousy service from that. The service is still awful.

As I told you, just curious. I'm going to begin getting my manga from home ('though the connection is considerably slower) and start improving my efficiency at the office

There are only so many standard ports I can swap around. Right now there seems to be a cap on our machine on port 80 or an attack of some kind so we were forced to move downloads to port 81 otherwise downloads time out.

Our host is still trying to figure out why this is happening, and I think we can expect to continue to force downloads over port 81 for another week. At this point I can't do anything further for you, it's really out of our hands at this point. Raise hell with your ISP or download from another location for another week.
