Thread: Referral System

Can anyone explain how the referral system works? Is it a good thing, bad thing? What is it?

It may be a stupid or novice question, but I couldn't find a thread on it before through search.

When a user signs up, they are given the option to type in the username of the person who showed them to this site, that person then gets a refferal point which does ansolutely nothing except show others how many people you have brought to this site (although frankly no one cares).

I wonder who has the most referrals.

I think he takes the cake, with you in second with nine. I only checked the first two pages of members sorted by post count, though.

Don't forgrt that most of those (for CN) are duplicate accounts (the NiTes).

I just wonder who the hell typed in my nick as referrer. <.<
I only have 3-4 RL friends in here and I don't think they would go through the pain of doing that, especially that one of them's a total jackass.
