Thread: Mobile Suit Gundam

Hey everyone! Does anyone like Gundam? Cause that series rocks.

Apparently, the Turn A Gundam series is supposed to be in production for english dubs. Hopefully it will air soon. Is anyone else as much a Gundam freak as I am? Gundam is completely awesome!

I don't know if I can call myself a Gundam freak. After all, I don't go crazy and buy Gungam-related figurines and model...

But I do want to collect all the Gundam series. My first Gundam sighting was Mobile Suit Gundam Wings - I found a few episodes which was probably in the mid of the series and that made me hunt every cd/dvd shop for a complete set. After that, the rest is history.

Although I yet to collect the MS Gundam 0079 (I think it was the Amuro-Char) series, the Turn A Gundam, ZZ Gundam...I haven't got the money yet to buy them. huhu.

I'm not a gundam freak either (although someone I know is). My first gundam was SEED destiny; I thought it was great, I don't know why everyone hates it. IMO the best gundam is probably the very first.

There are a couple of websites that you can buy a (fake) copy of the original series. The website has mostly series that are no longer in production anymore, much like Mobile Suit Gundam (the original series). I enjoyed the first series, sucks that they had to rush the ending when it was canceled, but it was still damn good.

As far as the other series, SEED wasn't a bad one, and Destiny wasn't very bad either, but it's just a lot of "let's make a show to make a show", and not "let's make a show to make something new". If you didn't know, Gundam was the show that turned the Robot genre into Super Robot and Real Robot... So you had Voltron and Patlabor in two different categories. It opened up a WORLD of new anime, and I love every second of it.

Also, I highly suggest getting yourself a High Grade, or a Master Grade Gundam model. Seriously, do it. They've got damn near all of the mobile suits as models nowadays, so it won't be hard to find your favorite. Those things are awesome, and there's just so much you can do with them too. I'll find out that website I bought my copy of 0079 from and send it to you guys if you'd like?

Nice pic! I wish my wife would let me make a shrine to my action figures... oh the amounts of Ninja Turtles, GI Joes, Gundams, Transformers, and Power Ranger Megazords I would have on said display....

I probably won't buy the figurine. The space in my room too small and congested with my anime and manga collection to display such.

By the way, a friend told me that it was the Super Robot Wars that start the whole Gundam series - I watch a few episodes of it and see familiar MS. I might buy this too once I got money.

Gundam SEED & Destiny - Not my fav but one of the best Gundam series that I watch. The MS Freedom is MS that I like and still on top of the list till now. Nonetheless, Shin Asuka is Gundam led-character that I hate - somehow his personality suck!

I haven't seen the MS Gundam Unicorn yet but I hope to add it to my collection once the series end.

SRW didn't start Gundam, however most SRW games have featured at least one Gundam.
