To sum up, the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly just approved a government bill that would make it illegal to own, create or sell "manga, anime, and other images (except for real-life photography)" that "unjustifiably glorify or exaggerate" certain sexual or pseudo sexual acts. Voluntary compliance starts in April 2011, and the law is expected to go into full force by July 2011.

From what I gather, this directly targets otaku culture, particular loli, yaoi/yuri, rape and ecchi manga/anime... plus there could be spillover effects onto excessive violence, fanservice and other activities deemed too immoral for minors (under 1to see.
Any thoughts on what's going to happen, or which authors/series are going to be most affected?
