Thread: looking for magical/fighting manga

kind of like tokyo mew mew, sailor moon, i like magical girl series, but i dont like it to be -too- light hearted. do you know of any?

Okay, lessee, not really my genre (I tend to prefer more straight-up fantasies), but I might have a couple. Revolutionary Girl Utena is the first that comes to mind. A classic, if a little short. Crystal Dragon isn't exactly magical girl, but a historical fantasy -- not sure if that's within parameters, but if it is, give it a couple volumes for the art to settle down. Sakurahime Kaden is a historical, rather than contemporary, magical girl series, sorta. Hime-chan no Ribon may be a little young, but it's pretty good for all that. Sailor Fuku ni Onegai is a possibility, tho' be aware the scans are of variable quality.

If any of these work, I can look for some others like 'em.

i like this series too

Mahou sensei negima fits the bill (although the fighting is really more applicable to the more recent stuff, it does have magical battles paced evenly throughout the earlier stuff).
