Okay, time for a little mid-season review. What shows are you watching NOW? And what did you drop, or find out that it was better than it had first seemed?
For me, Cross Game is maintaining it's brilliance. It's kind of surprising, because I normally have trouble following anime when I've already seen the manga, but I keep on watching this one over and over again. Definitely favourite dark horse of the season. And people who have never seen or heard of it or its' creator before are now ranking it as the #1 or #2 show this season, so it's not just my inner-rabid-fan speaking. :)
K-On... it's as moe as heck, but hey, I watched Bottle Fairies, for crying out loud. It's very difficult to kill me with a moe overdose. Not bad. Bit of a guilty pleasure, but it's still doing okay.
Hanasekeru Seishounen - I watched about 3 episodes, then couldn't take it. It's just not... catchy. Maybe to a bishounen-lover it might be, but this reverse-harem is failing to impress me. Nothing really off-putting (for a shoujo series)... just... nothing really outstanding, either. Sort of meh.
Eden of the East - Well, it's one of those shows which you know is good, and everyone is watching, and has a lot of action and plot twists and mystery. Like Code GEASS last year, I suppose. I watched 3 episodes also. Okay. I can see how it might be interesting, but not really my cup of tea. It'll definitely appeal to fans of Liar Game, Death Note, Monster, and other psychological / thriller manga, though. Supposedly, it's rated as either #1 or #2 anime of the season (competing with Cross Game) among the rest of the (discerning) anime-watching community.
Asura Crying - watched 3 episodes. Meh. Dropped due to gaping plot holes.
Tears to Tiara - watched one episode. Dropped due to boredom.
I'm also following Haruhi, of course. But too early to tell what's up with that. And I'm thinking about trying Valkyria Chronicles. Any good?
What about the rest of you guys? How have your expectations been met / not met?
Concur on Cross Game. The only other show I'm watching is Eden of the East, where by "watching" I mean, I actually watched the first four (or five?) episodes and am stockpiling the rest as they come out for a binge when the season's over, to work out what's going on.
Valkyria Chronicles: Maybe I'm comparing it with the game too much but I preferred the story-telling in the game itself. I'm still following it hoping that it will get better.
K-On: I like slice of life animes so I'm a bit bias when I say that I like this show.
Natsu no Arashi: I like the first episode but I didn't like the 2nd. Dropped.
Tears to Tiara: I actually didn't see the first episode but I saw the second and onwards. I found it interesting and it feels like I'm watching Utawarerumono for some reason. I plan on following it and see how it turns out.
Basquash: I wasn't watching this series but I saw the episode with the whole Idols and Hot springs. Now I'm planning on checking it out. My brother seems to like it a lot though. Robots playing basket balls sounds weird but hey who knows.
Haruhi: I'm a Haruhi fan. any questions? ^^
Cross game: just like dizzy. I've read it already but I still enjoy watching it. A series that I'm definitely going to keep following. I do hope that they remove some characters that was introduce in the manga that was later on forgotten/ignored as they aren't needed in the story.
Queens blade: I couldn't even finished watching a whole episode even if I try. too much fanservice is too annoying. DROPPED!
Hatsukoi Limited: exact copy of the manga. I did like the manga but somehow theres something missing about it in the anime. I'm going to continue watching it hoping that they handle the ending a lot better compared to the manga.
Saki: I never remembered this much fanservice in the manga but I'm still following it. Kinda like Hikaru no go but with girls instead and no Sai. Quite a catchy ending song ^^.
Hayate no Gotoku 2: I'm just waiting for the Hinagiku episodes.... xD
Tayutama: saw bits of it. It didn't appeal to me as much. Harem anime with spirits and stuff?
Full metal Alchemist: It stayed true to the manga and I'm enjoying it. I didn't see the first anime so I'm not sure if this one is superior/inferior compared to it.
Eden of the East: It sounds interesting. I haven't watched it as my brother didn't continue downloading after the first episode. I guess he didn't like the whole "naked guy running around". but if its like those anime/mangas that dizzy compared it to. Then I'm definitely going to watch it as I like all those. :D
I VERY much doubt Valkyria will get any better.

I wouldn't bother with tears to tiara if I were you, every episode is pretty much the same and goes like this:
A: Silly bitch, moe-blobs can't have an opinion.
Morgan: seryigweruiagho;jweraugvn9er8aygwr80aeghuiogh078g (hic)
Ogam: ho ho ho ho
Arrawn: Damn my harem is comically annoying.
Eden of the east is very good, if you can block out the main female lead (and try to avoid looking at here arse ugly face).
Oy. I happen to think the heroine of Eden is cute. Certainly more interesting than most supposedly moe girls.
Hmm... Just watched episodes 1-8 of Valkyria Chronicles. Not bad. Definitely the most watchable out of all the action / adventure animes showing this season for me. Since I haven't played the game, I'm not spoiled at all, and I think they're doing a decent job of it. (Not following FMA anime, because I'm following the manga and watched all of the previous version).
Oh yes, Hatsukoi Limited anime is... okay, but as Vincent said, there seems to be something missing, even though they're following the manga extremely closely. I don't think the storytelling and art style translates very well to anime.
@98: LOL! I'm guessing the characters never developed in Tears no Tiara. I'm still giving it a chance. I did like Utawarerumono but not its ending so Hopefully this one would have one thats a lot better.
Hatsukoi limited; Chikura's episode was nicely done. Now that all of the main characters has been introduce. The series could get better or worse from this point on.
FMA: the anime had too much information introduce quite early in the story. Maybe I just didn't like the current episode cause of ... well everyone who saw it will know. =\
