A legitimate way of fansubbing?
So, Kadokawa's apparently offering users the ability to do the equivalent of fansubbing work on their new internet TV channel. (See ANN article). It's kind of experimental, so they've got a test period of about a month. Series include Full Metal Panic, Midori no Hibi, Kaze no Stigma, Girls Bravo, Karin, Ninomiya-kun, and some others.
What do you guys think? Do you think it'll take off - this idea of giving fansubbers a legitimate way to practice their craft, with fairly popular series from an established Japanese production company? (even though all the series in question have already been fansubbed...) If any of you are fansubbers, would you be interested in having a legit way of publishing your work, or are there other considerations stopping you from using the service?
Thoughts and opinions welcome.
