Oi.
This past holiday season, I've bought loads of anime dvds. As I've strolled through mountains of titles, I came across several interesting titles that where classics, but I finally bought two discs that seemed to appeal to me. By then I didn't know why.
The two discs were compilations of several titles. I bought them because each had titles that seemed very good watch. I didn't really care what was the other titles on the dvds. I checked them out after I bought them. Well, thats how I buy dvds, really.
On one dvd was Princess Mononoke. On the other was Castle of Cagliostro. Like I said earlier, it seemed to appeal to me. I know Princess Mononoke was a major classic, but later, when I checked the other titles, I was really shocked. I just bought a compilation of Miyazaki classics. Animes which inspired many mangakas and western animators.
The titles, to name a few, where Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds, and Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro. Shocking, all those in two dvds...
Anyway I am currently searching the market for other classics, not only Miyazaki's works, but others as well. I'd like to ask you guys for what classic title you know, and who the creator is.
Im currently looking for the works of the creator of Paprika, and the works of Osamu Tezuka.
Thanks for your help.
P.S. I know its shameful, but I bought them using clandestine channels. You, of course, know what I mean.
