Does anyone know what happened to the evil empire? I just tried going to the site but there was nothing and I was wondering if anyone had news about this site, if you did plz post some information anything is good because this is such a good manga website and i hope it will become online again.

No one is actually sure what happened (at least, not anyone I could find) It's been down for a few days now, and the (indefinite, unconfirmed) word around the rumor mill is that the site has been stripped due to legal infringements on licensed material. I hope this isn't true and the site comes up again soon though.

Hmm... I was wondering how long it would last before the authorities heard of it. Evil Empire has been around for nearly 4 years now, I think. I'm surprised it took as long as it did for them to find it. But I guess the forum format tends to protect manga distribution sites better than a straight html-DDL site.

Unless there was licenced(in english) material there, there shouldn't be any problems with authorities.
It has happened before, the site going off-line for a couple of days... I hope it comes back. =D

The site is down due to server problems. We don't currently know what's wrong, but once we do, we'll fix it ASAP. As a staff member of the site, I can confirm that it's not down due to any series that we host. The problem is technical, not legal, and we're doing our best to get it fixed.
Until then, our IRC channel is active at #theevilempire@irc.irchighway.net and you can feel free to drop in and chat. We're keeping the topic updated to reflect what we know about the problem and how far along we are at solving it.

Thank god it's only a technical problem. Thank you for that info lynzajw! I'm glad that it'll be up and running whenever it can. I really love the site so keep up the great work!

An update: we've identified the server problem and are now working to fix it. The site should be up and running again today or tomorrow. We'll be announcing any progress on our IRC channel, so feel free to check #theevilempire@irc.irchighway.net to check for updates!
