    Talking Twelve Kingdoms

    Just finished Twelve Kingdoms...LOVED IT.

I know they have released novels in both Japanese and English, but is there any manga? They don't finish the stories.

Also, any recommendations for other anime or managa very similar to this type?
    I want more!! hahahaha

I don´t know what it was, you liked on 12 Kingdoms,
    but you may like:

-Utawarerumono (another fantasy emperor facing problems, more comedy elements)

-Seirei No Moribito aka Guardian of the Sacred Spirit (a little more action oriantated)

-Mushishi (almost no action, just mystic stuff)

    sob...

I can second all of them Seirei No Moribito and Mushishi. BUT NOT Utawarerumono. that series is such bs. It was like a kid decided to take a crap on the storyline and the director gave it the thumbs-up.

try Watashi no Messiah-sama its a good manga with a similar basis.

hmmm, I very muched like Twelve Kingdoms myself, and even if boredgwntd here doesn't seem to like it, I thought Utawarerumono was an interesting series. Granted, it's plot twist later on was kinda extreme, but otherwise it wasn't too bad *shrugs*

Other then that, I can't really suggest series that much, due to the fact there aren't a lot of series that are like Twelve Kingdoms (which, I guess in a way is good cause it makes it more unique, but yeah...)

I haven't seen/read seirei or mushishi, so I'll have to give them a look as well before I can say if they are good recommends or not :3

Seriously that was not a plot twist. That was a attempted suicide of the whole story, and it succeeded. The story was real interesting at first, but I mean come on how are they gonna just give some high sci-fi shit that made no sense... Well not good sense. I mean even Scrapped Princess pulled off their ending "alright". But Utawarerumono just had the stupidest sht I've ever seen. Waste of time.

thanx guys. I have seen mushishi and enjoyed it very much. My boyfriend didn't like it as it was too slow for him. I found it addictive and calming. Pity it was so short...

I also recommend Shura No Toki Side Story. A lot of martial arts and the Shinsengumi make an appearance for a lot of the series along with Miyamoto Musashi.

Btw, anyone read the novel of Miyamoto Musashi? There is one translated into English. just started. Its real good. Tarantino can do a lot with it!! Especially the opening scene of the book, Musashi is lying among a sea of dead soldiers...
