I keep meaning to start buying them when I get the chance, but having other financial concerns in life have kept me from it xD
another series that the anime is bad compared to the manga: Fruits Basket. In my opinion, anyway, heh.

Manga generally have better plotlines and are paced more astutely, and assuming that the mangaka has some tact, MOST of the time it'll pretty much be better in every other way as well.
Just doin' this until I have the 10-count ^_^
i only used to watch animes and would never even think of reading the mangas. but when i watched ranma 1/2 i wasnt satisfied with the anime ending so i read the manga and since then i always read the manga before watching the series. the mangas are usually better because the anime leaves stuff out however the animes are good too.
My rule is, if there's an anime of it. I'll watch that.
Voicework, music, colour, movement COMPLETES an experience. Black and white still images is just that...
Plus most of the stuff I read is shounen and bad art or poorly drawn fight scenes seems to be a requirement.
However there are a few examples. Oh! Great's art is so much better than the art in the anime. Berserk manga is better because they took so much out in the anime. KHR! manga was better because the anime appears to be aimed at 3 year olds.
I really canīt agree to that one...
They donīt complete the experience, they just change it. There is a good reason why film adaptions of novels are almost never as good as the novel.
Though the gap between manga and anime may not be as big as the one between film and book, still, if an anime has to keep up with a good manga, it ought to be a master piece, or has to be completely changed, to adept to the different media.
wood ear
Well of course. I'm only talking about anime that follows the original manga it's adaptating. But even if it has fillers, I don't care. I don't have to watch those.
