    Default Manga recommendation

hey everybody , im lookin for a really good manga that you think it is at the same level with the popular ones like naruto , onepiece , hxh ...blabaaal..blaa
but not given what it really worth , if you know what i mean , one which is not known to everybody , but you think it is as great as the popular ones ..

another recommendation if you don't mind is a "Beach manga" , a manga that most of its senses are on the beach .

    thanks on advance ^_^

(sorry my english is bad) >_<

    He beat me to it!

Now, to be serious, this is a hard post to respond to, and for very simple reason.

    1) In circles like this, there isn't really such thing as manga that aren't well known. Granted, there are exceptions, as not everyone knows everything.

    2) It's hard to give you examples of manga that are 'as good as Naruto' (for example) not because Naruto is a manga blessed to man from God and it's nearing perfection (of which it will reach when it's finished) but because everything would be opinion. I, personally, could give you a list of manga a mile long full of titles, of all different genres mind you, that I find to be on par or greater than Naruto. Of course, again, those are my opinions. People would agree and disagree with various titles I could mention.

Now, with that said, if you'd like to make your post a wee bit easier to respond to by telling us specific genres and story elements you are interested in, we can narrow down that list and help you out ;D

Edit: Oh, and I was meaning to ask. When you say 'Beach manga' and, I'm assuming you wanted to say, 'Most of the SCENES are on the beach' what exactly do you mean by that? Do you just like to see characters at the beach or are you looking for something specific? Beach sports? Swimming? Girls/guys in swim wear? I'm a little lost on what you're asking for.

Nine out of ten Americans agree that out of ten Americans, one will always disagree with the other nine.

For the beach manga, try Yotsuba&!, though it only sometimes actually goes to the beach. Best beach reading possible.

As good as the populars but not as well-known? Well, there's always Fruits Basket.
Today is always the most enjoyable day. Just ask Yotsuba.

who wants to go through thousands of old posts....the existent manga only gets longer

and so ill just name some ive just gotten into recently:

i just read the first what, 14 chapters of "Alive - The Final Evolution"
found it very interesting...characters have physic powers.....always a plus
...also look into "Psyren" for this type..

"Vinland Saga" < reminds me of berserk n claymore

"Biomeat" < escapist type..you know there is always a sense of ..if i dont get out of here ill die...with humor

"ID" korean manga...cool maybe as popular as naruto? but ill putt it here just incase its not....i recently went there and bought a volume....way ahead of the scanners cant tell whats going on in the story tho as i cant read korean lol...

"Zero One".....art reminds me of Gantz for some reason from what i read its pretty interesting....well i dont read boring stuff so thats beside the point...setting is in the future....boy > virtual game >fighting > ghosts? >crazy? *shrugs*

"xblade" hot naked chicks transform into kick ass weapons

    -nuff said

"Captain Tsubasa" loooooong series on its second run...sports> soccer

"Deadman Wonderland" scary hidden power from the past that uses blood?

"Ubel Blatt" scary hidden power from the past, rising from the dead?

"E's" anime is dope...try watchng it first if u can find it but if not<

"Kekkaishi" thats how u spell it?

"Zetman" < one of my first downloads...taken forever to get scantalated
def imo on the level...but its dark n mature like beserk....beserk before gats met the fairy

there was another one u might like...and i did too but loss intrest to the point where i forgot the name...ha sorry...pointless to even mention but w/e...oh *snap* i remeber hell it was...

    "Buso Renkin"?
...was really interested untill it was translated and i found out it was crap
but hey you might like it..

"Ares"...u havent read it yet? youre slow

I'll try to tackle the beach question.

Off the top of my head, the only manga series I know which (sorta) fit into that category is Aqua and Aria. Unlike Naruto, Bleach, etc., these are seinen rather than shounen series, so they're gentler, more thoughtful, and not so loud or action-packed. Aqua and Aria are set on a water planet, and are about girls training to become gondoliers (boat guides). So if you want the sensation of being at the beach, staring at the sunset with waves at your feet, just taking in the scenery, then these series can give it to you.

If you want half-naked girls in a relaxed environment, try something else. Maybe IO might fit. IO is about a guy who learns scuba diving with a family of three sisters at an island. The eldest is well-endowed and wears a wetsuit as a diving instructor. The second is typical tsundere... and also wears a wetsuit as a diving instructor. She also does part-time modelling. And the third is moe. Go figure. Mixed in with the relationships is a sci-fi story about the island's past history, a mystery which consumed the lives of the parents of both the boy and the girls. And how the youngest girl is starting to exhibit strange powers.

Actually, technically, Aria runs -- or rather ran, as the last chapter just came out -- in a shounen magazine, Comic Blade. Older shounen, but officially listed as shounen. Which only goes to show I don't understand Japanese demographics. (Though that Aria is technically shounen doesn't faze me nearly as much as that Yotsuba&!, which runs in Dengeki Daioh, is also technically shounen. I can understand watching Yotsuba as a form of nostalgia; but do teen boys really like reading about her that much?)

Anyway, I second the recommendations for Aqua/Aria (same series retitled when it switched publishers) and IO.
