1) In circles like this, there isn't really such thing as manga that aren't well known. Granted, there are exceptions, as not everyone knows everything.
2) It's hard to give you examples of manga that are 'as good as Naruto' (for example) not because Naruto is a manga blessed to man from God and it's nearing perfection (of which it will reach when it's finished) but because everything would be opinion. I, personally, could give you a list of manga a mile long full of titles, of all different genres mind you, that I find to be on par or greater than Naruto. Of course, again, those are my opinions. People would agree and disagree with various titles I could mention.
Now, with that said, if you'd like to make your post a wee bit easier to respond to by telling us specific genres and story elements you are interested in, we can narrow down that list and help you out ;D
Edit: Oh, and I was meaning to ask. When you say 'Beach manga' and, I'm assuming you wanted to say, 'Most of the SCENES are on the beach' what exactly do you mean by that? Do you just like to see characters at the beach or are you looking for something specific? Beach sports? Swimming? Girls/guys in swim wear? I'm a little lost on what you're asking for.
mangas as 'good' as naruto bugs me^^
but if you wanna taste some really good mangas, look in the 1000 other general recomendation threads. simply pic the ones recommended the most and i think you'll find something
For the beach manga, try Yotsuba&!, though it only sometimes actually goes to the beach. Best beach reading possible.
As good as the populars but not as well-known? Well, there's always Fruits Basket.
well its always good to have a recent recommendation thread
who wants to go through thousands of old posts....the existent manga only gets longer
and so ill just name some ive just gotten into recently:
i just read the first what, 14 chapters of "Alive - The Final Evolution"

Oh, let's toss another recommendation on the pile: Eternal Sabbath aka E/S.
I'll try to tackle the beach question.
Off the top of my head, the only manga series I know which (sorta) fit into that category is Aqua and Aria. Unlike Naruto, Bleach, etc., these are seinen rather than shounen series, so they're gentler, more thoughtful, and not so loud or action-packed. Aqua and Aria are set on a water planet, and are about girls training to become gondoliers (boat guides). So if you want the sensation of being at the beach, staring at the sunset with waves at your feet, just taking in the scenery, then these series can give it to you.
If you want half-naked girls in a relaxed environment, try something else. Maybe IO might fit. IO is about a guy who learns scuba diving with a family of three sisters at an island. The eldest is well-endowed and wears a wetsuit as a diving instructor. The second is typical tsundere... and also wears a wetsuit as a diving instructor. She also does part-time modelling. And the third is moe. Go figure. Mixed in with the relationships is a sci-fi story about the island's past history, a mystery which consumed the lives of the parents of both the boy and the girls. And how the youngest girl is starting to exhibit strange powers.
iused to play this card game...like 8 years ago
never heard of IO will give it a try
Actually, technically, Aria runs -- or rather ran, as the last chapter just came out -- in a shounen magazine, Comic Blade. Older shounen, but officially listed as shounen. Which only goes to show I don't understand Japanese demographics. (Though that Aria is technically shounen doesn't faze me nearly as much as that Yotsuba&!, which runs in Dengeki Daioh, is also technically shounen. I can understand watching Yotsuba as a form of nostalgia; but do teen boys really like reading about her that much?)
Anyway, I second the recommendations for Aqua/Aria (same series retitled when it switched publishers) and IO.
