I honestly didn't care about her attraction to him. I mean the whole "guy gets cursed, then has to save the village/world" thing has been done before but this one actually got me hooked the first time I saw it. It was the whole fact that they were planning to defeat a spirit god and the fact that they actually somewhat succeeded when the iron lady blew off it's head that really got me. The love story was not something I actually cared for in that particular movie, it was mainly everything else.

The first time I watched Spirited Away, I fell asleep, then I forced myself the second time. I just couldn't feel anything for the characters aside from boredom. :/ Animations was better that his previous works though.

It's even more impressive that all the stuff he directed in the 80s has basically just as good animation but without the digital enhancement. Have you seen Laputa? That movie's intense.


So what do you guys think of the more abstract animations that Studio 4ºC or sometimes Madhouse and IG do?

Take windy tales or Mindgame for example.
My opinion is probably influenced by the fact that these productions are invariably accompanied by great writing but I think there's alot to be said for bringing something new to the table, and it certainly beats some lifeless ZEXCS or beetrain productions with characters which look as though they could have come from one of a thousand different H-games.

Studio 4ºC in particular have put out a lot of awesome stuff, usually with less unconventional aesthetics.

Windy tales looks like Shin-chan. Mindgame looks insane, in a really good way.

Not a fan of either style tbh, but you might like Kemono Zume if you like this.

Yeah thanks I've already seen Kemonozume. It was great. I might try Skullman sometime.

Another series worth noting is Soul Taker, though there's probably a possibility of having a seizure from all the colors and constant motion. x.x

Welcome to NHK is the best anime ever. Samurai Champloo & Ouran Highschool Host Club were good too.

I prefer that the character have a good lines and expressions, fruit basket. And the kind of girl who want romantic comedy, but if you can conbinate, horror or mistery could be better. I really love the movies from studio ghibli, that should be a good example for what I´m try to talking about, and like a plus, the movies from studio ghibli always haved a messege.

I wish cancer upon both of you. This thread is not about what your favourite anime are or what content you like to see in them. It's about this YouTube - アニメーターMAD and this YouTube - 馬越嘉彦 MAD/AMV and this YouTube - MAD IsoMitsuo - Ciky no kiki etc.

And yes the Soultaker is like sex for my eyes. It would have been lovely if they had just stopped at episode 9 or something.

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo aka The Girl who could Leapt Through Time

it's 2D, it rocks!!!, it's sad, but it's cool!!!

it tells about a high school girl who can suddenly leapt the time and she use that power to do what she likes... kinda childish and funny... she has two best friends, both boys... who are in love with her. in the end of this movie, she finds a shocking reality about one of her best friend..

anyways, the ending is sosososososo saaaddd.... gotta watch it yourself
