Thread: Particular Scene in Romantic mangas/anime

Hi, I am a big fan of romance manga(predominantly shounen since I am a guy) I've read countless shounen romance manga except for those that are really old or just doesn't have artstyles to my taste. And I have realized that I am actually yearning for the story/scene where a main character(guy) loves a girl or has a girlfriend/wife, and she cheats on him or is seen kissing another man. The scene of betrayal, followed by the main character being heartbroken and going into emo mode, or breaks up with her, or any changes that indicate dramatic change in plot. For example, I've read RAWs for yume de aetara and there is a scene where Matsuo sees Nagisa kissing another man. He gets shocked and takes a train to some distant place. (I dont quite understand what's going on because it's in japanese but I could feel the emotions). And that scene just never leaves my mind, i felt so sorry for Matsuo . I was wondering if there was any other mangas that you have read (translated or RAW) that has similar scene like this. I really do not like shoujo but if some of shoujo mangs have it I will read it just for that scene. I hope you can help me~~. Thanks a lot for reading this post

I can't believe I'm doing this, but I'm actually going to recommend Dance Till Tomorrow (a.k.a. Asatte Dance) as the perfect series for you. Also, the main couple of Salad Days has a scene like this (the first few chapters of Volume 16 or 17, if I'm not mistaken). Hmm... the Korean shoujo manhwa Goong (a.k.a. Gung), perhaps. And I know that Hana Yori Dango has scenes like this, except that it's the reverse situation (the guy is the one who betrays the girl's feelings)

Thanks a lot for your response. DO you know any manga that deals a lot with breaking up and getting back together? like a girl dumping a guy vice versa but eventually at the end they realize the feelings for each other and come back together

Um... doesn't happen very often in shounen manga. I think it occurs most often in shoujo romantic triangles, like Parfait Tic or Hot Gimmick. Those series aren't the best that shoujo has to offer, but they're the only ones I can think of where this actually occurs (I think). But as for a couple that breaks up a lot and gets back together again... hmmm...

Ooh, if you haven't, you should watch Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (a.k.a. Rumbling Hearts). That's an excellent case of betrayal, breakup and heartbreak, with a painful patching up process. And School Days, I guess... that one involves the guy being a total cheating *** though, with very tragic consequences in the end.

Another possibility is Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai, which is not the best shoujo has to offer but better than most.
