Some may think I'm crazy for saying so, but the moment when the tank AIs were dieing one by one while protecting Batou in "Ghost in The Shell SAC", and one asks why God has forsaken them was really touching for me.

I have to add "5 Centimeters per Second" to this thread. The entire film is one long emotional trip.
Too late, mate! Already added in my first post But it always deserves an extra mention.

OMFG...yea I know. That totally came out as a "wtf" moment. But I was talking about the anime. He basically shows her all his erotic games and figurines in an effort to driver her away, but Nanako responds with "I think ecchi games are gross, but the way in which you're so open about it, that's what I like about you". Yakamoto didn't expect this, so he says something about her being into tentacle rape. Then she punches him and leaves. Yamamoto only wanted to driver her away because he was leaving Tokyo forever and there was no way they'd be able to pursue a relationship. And the end of the episode with the black screen you can hear him say "sayonara, Nanako-san". That part was really quite emotional for me.
Yeah, I totally have to rewatch it soon. Luckily I have the anime on my never-ever-ever-remove-from-the-computer list and I'm going to buy the book. One of my all time faves.

I'd have to also say 5 Centimeter Per Second (spoiler)

It was probably when in the third episode I saw that Akari was wearing a wedding ring talking about the guy she was living with and then I realized it wasn't Takaki because he wasn't wearing a ring. :/

The whole movie is epic and made of win. Highly recommend it to anyone who just likes a good story with realistic situations, and the most fantastic animation I've personally seen. His character designs could use some work but my god is it amazing with the amount of detail in the background and everything. This is what I'd consider to be a masterpiece, story was great, animation, voices acting, and music, it's all there. Light hearted enough for anyone while deep enough to linger in your mind for ages.

Yea, and the scary thing is...some of the stuff portrayed in the anime I can actually relate to. Not the porn game part, but....other stuff =P

Maybe I will be like Sato in 5 years...

Yeah, it's a bit like Genshiken in that sense. I would be like him if I just stopped going to school, so... Sad, is it not?

Sure, in this thread maybe. ;D
Hey! That's cheating. Of course I meant this thread

I'd like to mention the ending of Pale Cocoon. It was like this subdued emotional thing that occurred in me... A bit like hearing that a girl you have no interest in has crush on you. You don't reach euphoria, but there is something in there that makes you a bit shaky.

I just watched The Place Promised in Our Early Days. I loved the violin part. This Makoto dude is a God. I want his babies.

Too bad Sayuri had to lose her memories at the end, but at least she got to start afresh. Overall, the ending's slightly more upbeat than Byousoku's.

    No Akari's in this anime!

I'm not sure if it was mentioned .Looking up at the half moon is very emotional. [SPOILERS] I knew it wouldn't have a happy ending from the very start but I was still hoping for it at the end. Well for me I would still count it as a happy ending even though she would die sooner or later. At least she's happy now and until the moment she dies. Too bad for the guy though.[SPOILERS]

That ending was amazing, really. Mostly because remembering was the only thing she wanted to be able to remember when she woke up again, but that also made it more obvious that she wouldn't. The sad things of the happy ending were in focus. Nice touch I would say.

I finished the series Tengen Toppa Gurren Gurren Lagann just recently and I think it had one of the best emotional moments ever like when Simon made that speech after he got out of that state of depression.
