    Default Looking for...

Can anyone recommend a manga focusing on a hetero relationship.
Something emotionally mature, not so high schoolish. Hopefully a relationship that actually "goes somewhere." I realize that with a Japanese story thats like asking for the moon but I can hope.

I been reading a lot of yuri recently and I need something different.

You might as well ask for the moon, most of the manga dealing with relationship is mostly high schoolish, since thats what the manga targets..

Maybe you can come up with some of them you've allready raed, so we don't come up with tons you've allready been through...?

Well I havent really found anything that fit my description and was thinking I would ask the forums before forgetting the whole thing.

The only one that I can think of that I have read is Honeymoon Salad, which is interesting but only half translated.

Asatte Dance- Comedy, Drama, Mature, Romance, Seinen

    Resume.
Erotic college comedy. Suekichi goes to university and has, as any Japanese university student, time for hobbies. Things change when he attends his great grandfather's funeral and wakes the next morning in his room with a very sexy girl besides him. His great grandfather has left him a *little* inheritance but there are some conditions. Meanwhile, sexy Aya keeps hanging around and refuses to go away. The beginning of a strange relationship which revolves around suspicions and desire. Remark that "asatte" actually means "the day after tomorrow".

I thinks its, 7 vol, compleated.

    REC- Comedy, Drama, Mature, Romance

    Resume
REC is a romance about a 26-year old average Joe (Matsumaru Fumihiko) encountering a 20-year old aspiring voice actress (Onda Aka).

It's about, 5 vol and ongoing.

Kurohuku - Comedy, Drama, Ecchi, Mature, Romance, Seinen

    Resume
Twenty year old Ogawa Akira is taking the medical school entrance exam for the third time when he is overwhelmed by anxiety and flees the testing room. He soon finds himself wandering the streets of Tokyo lost and exhausted. Then by chance a woman drops her earring, and he picks it up and returns it to her. He is dumbstruck by her beauty. Overhearing that her name is Kyoko and that she works at the nearby cabaret club, he promptly decides to get a job at the club, with the hope of a getting closer to her and maybe finding his place in the world.

Think its about 1-3 volumes, compleated.

Edit: But there is always Love hina, its not too serious in tha matter of relationship, but if a funny romance.
But don't know exactly what you're looking for, so its hard to find something for you...

It may seem like most relationship manga deal with highschoolish relationships, because that's what mostly crosses over, because far too many people believe comix are for kiddies. Which means most of the ocean of josei manga are invisible, as are a large number of seinen romance. Let's start off with:

    Living Game
    Yume de Aetera
    Asatte Dance (Dance Till Tomorrow)
    Honeymoon Salad
    Itadakimasu
    Kami-sama no Orgel
    Bara no Tameni

and of course Nana. These have various levels of ecchi, and varying degrees of originality. A couple are completely scanned.

Don't forget Maison Ikkoku. That definitely goes somewhere. And Nodame Cantibile is good too. I second REC and Yume de Aetara as well.
