    The manga of Shion no Ou is kinda like, well, take Hikaru no Go, replace go with shogi, the boys with bishojos, and the finding-yourself plot with a psychological thriller. Be warned that this process leaches out much of the tension, but it does produce a pretty product.

    Haven't seen the anime yet.

    I am curious about Blue Drop, though, given the interesting couple chapters I've read of the manga.

The small original jokes that weren't in the manga all work perfectly, the animation is wonderful and the voice-acting is great! Forgetting about Genshiken 2... Die.
    Meh. The thing about Genshiken is that once you've seen the jokes in the manga, they just don't seem as funny any more in the anime. Or maybe I'm just biased because I haven't read Minami-ke before, so it seems fresher to me. It's like AzuDai and Lucky Star combined, on crack.

    Manga Genre Focus: Romance, Comedy, Slice-of-life. Primarily shounen, then seinen and shoujo.
    Currently watching:

    You've got a point and, as I previously stated, I really like Minami-ke, but you still all neglected to mention it as even a nominee. And seriously, Genshiken 2 is really well made.

    Kodomo no Jikan, Clannad, ef - tales of memories and myself; yourself are the best ones I've seen.

    Well, after watching the first episode of Moyashimon, I am quite surprised. It's as strange as it seems, what with the whole guy-seeing-adorably-cute-microbes thing, as well as some odd... events (the dead seal being fermented for food purposes was something I doubt I'd see anywhere else), but honestly, I found it quite refreshing. It doesn't seem to be action-oriented, or even romance-oriented, but it entertains nevertheless. It's a good alternative (I find) to all the shounen(?) romances this season.

    Oh, and the microbes are just too damn cute. That helps a LOT.

    Are there no You're Under Arrest fans here? Well, I'd say the new season, Taiho Shichauzo Full Throttle made me excited, and quite honestly it doesn't look all that bad.

    @yappa: I heard Shana 2 sucked balls D<

    I've gotten around to watching the first three episodes of most series, so here's my favorites of this anime season:

    ef - a tale of memories = BEAUTIFUL animation and style, interesting plotline
    Blue Drop - YURI ALIENS. What more can I say?
    Shion no Ou - lolis playing shogi + a creepy stalker dude = WIN.
    Genshiken 2 - Classic anime otaku love.

    That's all I'm following for now. Any other suggestions?
