Default Recommend me: A swimming manga!

Howdy, I think this is my first post here, so be gentle.. Anyway, this is my situation: A while back I took up boxing, and it's been pretty fun.. at first, though, I didn't like it much. I'm just not a particularly violent person by nature. Then, I randomly heard about Hajime No Ippo, and started reading the manga. That changed my outlook on the sport immensely, and soon I was having massive amounts of fun with it.

Fast forward to today, and I'm in the process of finally getting around to learning how to swim. Thus, I'm hoping that a fine community such as yourselves can recommend me a good manga for competitive swimming. (NO water sports hentai please! :P) Something lighthearted, and at least semi-realistic, (and possibly featuring a young star's rise to fame, heheh) like Ippo, would be ideal, but I'm open to pretty much anything. My first choice would be one that really drives home the basics of the movements and techniques that one would actually use in real life. Don't worry, I have an actual instructor as well, so it doesn't have to be perfect. It's all just so much easier to remember when it's part of a story I've enjoyed. Thanks, y'all!

Unfortunately, I don't know of any manga that treats swimming techniques the way that Ippo and other boxing manga do. The only manga I know of which has swimming as one of its central foci (but not the only focus) is Rough, by Mitsuru Adachi. It tells of the love-hate relationship between of Yamato Keisuke, the national high-school bronze medalist in freestyle swimming who can never seem to get any better, and Ninomiya Ami, an aspiring high-diver. Keisuke's and Ami's families have been rivals for generations, and now that they've both entered the same high school, will they continue the rivalry or manage to overcome it and become friends - and perhaps something more?

Manga Genre Focus: Romance, Comedy, Slice-of-life. Primarily shounen, then seinen and shoujo.

I haven't met a single swimming manga other than Rough, either. Which has disappointed me to ... well, not no end (not in the way manga with "penguin" in the title DON'T HAVE PENGUINS IN THEM) -- but I've wanted more.

For boxing manga, though, you may want to look for another of Adachi's manga, Katsu!.

Which hentai swimming mangas treat swimming as a real sport?

You said you haven't heard of manga that treat swimming as a sport, other than hentai ones. I asked about the ones you have heard of.

Umisho, maybe? I only read a few chapters, and it wasn't really about competitive swimming, but it was completely about the sport, so...
